I e-mailed the group Director of TeamDynamics France and got an e-mail back saying they are in contact with my supplier regarding the order and have no concerns over the price or his ability to supply :)

Reading that again, it is the French supplier that it the company, not Muncher. Otherwise we would have a world of VAT pain. Due diligence would require at least some enquiries who that agent and supplier is before I hand over any payment, and as a minimum I would use my credit card to protect myself, or perhaps Paypal.

Again the question of warranty needs to be answered, plus what about defects and replacements or do they have to go back to France ?

Correction: the world of VAT is more painful than you think ;)

If Muncher was to buy the wheels through a UK VAT registered business, the French supplier wouldn't charge him French VAT. He would pay UK VAT at entry, claim it back, then recharge everyone UK VAT.

So in fact under the present arrangement you'll all be paying 21% VAT and not 17.5%!!!

Two extra people needed now as the wait is too much for a couple of people who need to replace their tyres.

Just got an update :) 17" fronts with can be done but they work out a lot more expensive, together with 9" rears they are 990Euro per set. Just trying to work out payment now, a bill of exchange has been proposed which I'd be happy with but would probably be even happier with CC payments.

I'll second that bump as TMS offers end soon.

Sorry guys, have been very busy with exams (5 last week!) I had an e-mail from the suppliers a week or so back asking if I had got their last message, I assumed I hadn't and told them to send it again, nothing since then but I have been too busy to chase them up. There have been a couple of people who have dropped out so numbers at the moment are probably slightly under what I need. As for the TMS offer, it's a good price and to be honest if you want a set soon I would go with those from TMS, if you are happy to hedge your bets on a group buy and hopefully save some cash all well and good. What I don't want though is people desperately wanting a set and missing the TMS deal and then the group buy not coming off for whatever reason.

Sorry guys I am going to have to call this to an end I'm afraid :( There are a number of reasons as to why. 1. A number of people have dropped out due to the delays which is perfectly understandable leaving the numbers I have too far short of the 20 required. 2. Team Dynamics sold some Lotus wheels at a silly price of around £320 per set of these wheels which has meant some Lotus owners who were making up the numbers have dropped out. 3. I've not had a reply to my last e-mail from the French suppliers for whatever reason. 4. I'm incredibly busy at the moment with other projects, exams and training contract interviews and I could do without the added workload of this at the moment. 5. TMS have reduced their prices by a fair chunk following this, with a couple of days left for the month's special offer where the price difference between the ones I would have got and Thorney's is reduced to about £100. I would like to allow people the chance to take up this offer as I don't want to dissapoint people by leading people to expect a price which for the above reasons may not possibly come off. 6. In the end I decided I could not justify the £100 saving on all the work the group buy would mean, even if it did come off (such as storing 80 wheels at my house!) I hope you buys understand.
