675 inc vat is very good considering the spec of wheel you are getting, it will also fit the big brake kits up front right?

Yes. The wheel is the VX220/Speedster fitment and will clear the AP kit should people want to upgrade. Whilst this might not be on everyones list of upgrades think about resale, this way people know if tey do want to buy a second hand car and are thinking of the AP's then they know the wheel will fit.

Thorney, that's very good of you to get the price reduced on the wheels. :) I recieved a reply from my supplier (I loose the term loosely as he is neither "mine" nor has he supplied me with anything yet) this morning. It was quite lengthy but mainly stated that the UK Distributors would not have known about it at all as the order would be placed through the French branch of the company. I will reproduce that here tonight but I'm at Law School in London at the moment. At the moment no firm order has been placed, the required numbers threshold was only reached over Christmas and since then the supplier has been on holiday. At the end of the day I am simply looking to source some cheap wheels, given that a few people off here have already managed to purchase them in France. Lastly, I am not averse to covering my arse and indeed those who I would be buying the alloys with. There is no way on earth I would hand over any money in advance whatsoever unless it was fully protected, such as by paying via credit card or bill of exchange.

Muncher, I don't think anyone is accusing you of anything other than acting perfectly rightly, certainly not me. However, Team Dynamics confirmed that no orders have been receved from anyone in Europe regardless of which country, indeed they were quite worried by the whole thing as they really can't see why anyone would supply the wheels at such a price. The only way they could see it was if the supplier (and I'm not accusing anyone of this) 'lost' the VAT through an import/export scam - theres a term for this but I can't remember what it is? I certainly do not think you have done anything wrong but when members complain directly to me and the supplier explains that they think the deal cant be done then I have to act. A couple of years quite a few SELOC members were conned out of quite a few thousand pounds on a similar wheel deal, it almost brought down the site as some members threatened to sue the site for its perceived complicity (I'm not saying anyone is trying to sure the VX site btw) so seeing as the protection of this site and its members is my No1 priority this is the only way I can see how to do it.

There is another 16" wheel (which I was actually unaware of) which will fit, but its not in the correct wheel offsets.

Thorney, I think it was good of you to intervene. I'm not personally involved in the group by but after hearing this (probably from the same people at Rim Stock as you) I thought it was only right to post my concern. I was not having a dig over prices - did not realise that rim stock were shifting the development costs on in such a direct fashion - again just forwarding some information for discussion! But good of you to review the price with them in response to all that has been said.

Rimstock website lists the following:

7.0 x16 e+15/18/20/25/30/38/45

http://www.rimstock....in.php?name=Pro Race 1.2

but unfortunately no indication of bolt circles. Is this what is unique about the TMS wheel - the combination of Vauxhall/Opel bolt circle and the 20mm offset to allow the possiblity of brake upgrades? Are the wheels offered in France a catalog item (VX bolt circle with that 25mm OE offset)?

Are these hubcentric, by the way, and is that also the standard catalog item or is this again something special about the TMS wheel?

I'm also curious about the price, as the TMS price matches very well the prices I have seen in Germany and is substantially less than what I have to pay in Switzerland (although this includes some ridiculous paperwork).

Just a quick question Thorney, will this price reduction also apply to the Pro Race 2 style, it is just looking on the web site these appear to be about 1/2kg lighter per wheel. Which I am sure will please all the aneroxics amongst us :D

you will not notice any diffrence with a wheel thats 1/2 kilo lighter per quarter, thats the same weight as changing worn to new tyres! if u are concerned about weight get some euro spec wheels imported for about 900 euros that are 3 - 4 kilos a wheel lighter!

As promised: No problem : My supplier is Team Dynamics FRANCE, the official importer for French market ... As the prices I gave you are much lower than the brochure ones, the French director just asked me not to advertise about it, to avoid reactions from the UK retailers (but it already seems to be too late !!! ) ... As far as delivery time is concerned, the French team does not need to call the British one, all the production programm and stocks available can be checked on computer now !!! Of course, the exact delivery time would be confirmed as soon as I would get the precise products to be ordered ... not before. If you have any doubt about my ability to provide you the wheels or my honesty I can understand that, as well as I can understand that Team Dynamics in UK is not so pleased to have it's british dealers being more expensive in comparison with a proposition from France ... But so is the market : French cars are more expensive in France than in Netherland or Belgium ... so the English wheels can be more interesting in France !!! And one more precision : I never called you to propose my services, but you got in touch with me to get a good proposition !!! Anyway I know that at the moment several speedsters' owner in France and Switzerland use the ProRace 1.2 products, supplied by my company (of course there is an invoice with each set of wheels sold ...) without any problem ... Best regards.

Ok, I've read all the recent posts. The only concerning part for me is the talk of offsets and that TMS have developed the wheel especially for the VX to accommodate the 'weird' offsets. Muncher can you explain exactly what this means and how the wheels in the group buy differ. Also as JT mentioned payment can be made to TMS via credit card, I have to say this would be my preferred method if I stay in teh group buy as I'll be insured. Thanks

I would have thought if Muncher has a "company" and is "sending out invoices " (as above post reads) then payment by credit card would be no problem?????

Imnotworthy it is very generous for Munchers company to do/set up this deal and make no profit etc from it. thumbsup ;)

poor bloke tries to organise a genuine group buy to save people some money, and hey presto look what happens. No wonder no one bothers, let the masses pay through the nose for "special" wheels.
