It's not a question of how "big" they look. I am running virtually new 225x45x17 rubber on the rear and 205x40x17 on the front. IMHO 17" rubber does not go well on 16" rims.

Any chance of a set in white 17" front and 17" rear???
Griffo

Maybe, but I don't see why you would want to compromise the handling with 17" fronts. I think white 16" fronts would "look big enough" as it is.

Weight difference of 16 vs 17
7.0 x 16 from 7.4kgs (16.2lbs)
7.0 x 17 from 7.9kgs (17.3lbs)
So 0.5 Kgs per wheel. But the sidewall of the 17" tyre is smaller , 40 profile versus 50, potentially a stiffer sidewall and possibly better for track use.

The pics I did in photoshop, show silver on silver and silver on blue which we couldnt see anywhere.

Any idea when these wheels are coming now, as my car may not be useable legally soon, on whats left on my tyres and it was pretty hairy in the storms we had on Saturday.

Martin s

Why not buy the Toyo or whatever tyres you want on the rear for now (I know bad handling etc) and then transfer them when they arrive.....

Yes Peter :) Just waiting an e-mail back from the suppliers to confirm final details. SteveA, probably the same price but I would need to check availability of them.

Muncher, Was talking to the Rim Stock guys at the autosport show yesterday and they have not yet had any requests/enquiries from their european dealers in relation to a group buy. I guess you may want to chase up your contact. Interestingly they also said that the VX220 specific fitment wheels should be priced as per the brochure RRP (ie £540 + VAT) though they could not sell those size wheels directly or via any other retailers! :poke:

That's odd. My contact just replied to discussing how the payment would work, delivery is now 8-10 weeks according to Team Dynamics, somewhat longer than first stated but I guess things change and there's not much I can do about that.

Your guys are getting a good deal. I have been quoted the equivalent of £700 from my local Swiss source, but I must admit that includes a fee for the rather laborious type approval in the Swiss MOT (which is more than just the local MOT shop saying it's ok).

Your bloke is on the level is he Mucher because this is a lot of money were talking about especially with 20 sets of wheels. I hope your not paying up front.

Andyvxt did you get any contact details of the guys you spoke to as it would be handy to confirm that the order has been placed and is genuine.

8-10 weeks ?!!! That may effect whether I buy these, as I need tyres all round 'very' soon and have been waiting many weeks already. Is there really no way of bringing this forward? Martin s

Not just this site, load of elise owners too on seloc , in total guessing 50 sets at 450 is a lot of temptation for an overseas agent. I'm going to get mine from a proper authorised UK Rimstock dealer not a grey import, delivered direct to my home, they said they would price match at that quantity. If I buy R888's or t1r's they would fit them free.

What is the situation with VAT on these ?

Right, I've kept well out of this deliberately as I didn't want to be accused of trying to protect our own wheel package for the car and the object of this site is to share information and opportunities to upgrade the car freely and open for all. However, several members came up to me at Autosport complaining that they thought something was 'fishy' and wanted to know why I wasn't protecting the members by stepping in. I know Muncher and I'm sure he has had no part in this which is anything other than open and honest but some enquiring today has brought up some information that I do need to share. Firstly no order has been made to Team Dynamics from any of their retailers anywhere in Europe for any quantity for this fitment. Indeed, whilst TD know about the deal (I referred them to the thread) they are actually quite worried as the supplier (whomever they are) are basically supplying them for a loss which obviously surprises them. I was under the impression that no money has changed hands at all so was not unduly worried that worng play was afoot but seeing as there have been some direct complaints levelled at me for *not* getting involved I've decided to see if I can resolve this. The reason the TMS wheels are more expensive than the other fitment Pro Race 1.2 wheels is that we have had to develop a new inner mould to account for the weird offsets that we need on these cars. The cost of this mould is amortised over all the wheels over a given period to recover that cost, normally this is over thousands of wheels but seeing as the VX market is relatively small we'll never sell that many it means the relative cost per wheel is higher to recover that mould cost. However, this investment does mean we have a wheel that is designed for the car and not an incorrect fitment. Seeing as this whole deal is going on on our site and there are now some heavy concerns over the details I've asked Team Dynamics (this affects their reputation as well) if they can sort out a deal to allow people to buy these wheels - the demand is clearly there with the confidence and security of buying through a recognised UK Team Dynamics agent. Team Dynamics thinks that its daft to invest the time to create a special wheel for the VX220 and not to sell it and frankly I agree, demand is there so we've agreed to sort a lower price for the VX220 fitment that we've developed. So, for a limited period, TMS will be dropping the price of the Pro Race 1.2 wheels, designed for the VX220 with the correct fitment, to £675 incl VAT and shipping in the UK. We have a few sets in stock but more on order with TD so the lead time is short. We have a new site hopefully launching tomorrow that will refect this price and I'll try to get the updated price up and also in the shop for those who wish to order online. I hope people will recognise that this is not a case of TMS walking in and 'stealing' someones deal. I've kept well out of it to avoid that very allegation but when the members here tell me they are worried, with a view that the site is somehow recommending a deal by not stepping in and where the iltimate supplier themselves tell me they think something is wrong with the deal and that no order has been recieved I think I'm honour bound to step in an offer an alternative. TMS can't compete with the price, frankly no-one can (and still supply the VX220 fitment wheel) but with TD's help I can get it down to a more reasonable but offer members the confidence that they are dealing with a UK based, Rimstock approved supplier with the capacity to handle credit cards (which offer their own security) and no need for deposits. I don't want to appear to be trying to sabotage Munchers deal and I've tried to contact him ahead of this post, hopefully he will see it for what it is worth - a desire to make sure all VX220 owners get the best, most secure deal.
