INC VAT, I will be getting the final price (currency fluctuations) shortly as I'm almost at 20 sets now. I've been in Stuttgart for the last few days so not getting any e-mail.

I'm tempted, but I use my car all year round so can't use R888s. The T1-Rs seem to be the only all-year 16" tyre that is suitable for the VX, but it gets slated by a lot of people, due to having a soft sidewall which allegedly rather ruins the VX's handling... :(

I have to say, my experience is the opposite of this. I run T1R's on these TD wheels (sourced from TMS). Yes, they seem to have a softer sidewall but this makes them break away more progressively. I find I am far more comfortable on these than the Bridgestones both for ride comfort and feel through the corners. I would also say they are better at dealing with standing water than the bridgestones.

I've used them on a couple of trackdays as well and while they don't have the outright grip of the 888's or the solid handling of the Bridgestones, they are great fun as you can really feel the car moving around far easier than the Bridgestones. I found that the Bridgestones were great up to a point but once you reach the limit they tend to give up quite suddenly.

Just my opinion but I am very happy with them.

Yes, I've read similar about Toyos on Seloc.

When looking at them on etyres its statest 'Reinforced' what do they mean?

il second your opinion regarding t1rs, as u all know i have had untold sets of wheels tyre mix on the vx and have found the toyos quite good, esp with standing water, im running 205 fronts and all i get is people saying there gonna aquaplane but my skinny 175 bridgestones are far worse in the water than these! there not as good as the goodyear eagle f1s or the michellin pilot sport i have tried but they are good.. and given a full set will cost around 350.00 or less a great deal.. if u r not a track enthusiast and use the car purely for fast road driving these are good tires to use... as for the a048s or 888s id not choose to run them in the winter, but come spring/summer id really love to use them!

Every car I've had in the last few years has been greatly improved, by adding michelin pilot sports. I am about to get 17,16 inch wheels and really want to use this to improve the car. I do the odd track day but mainly road use so was going to get T1r's. Not so sure now. I'd love to know the full range of tyres in use or possible, on this wheel set up. Martin

the list is huge, when u take away those skinny fronts there are so many tyre choice available, the thing is when u open up a topic like tyre choice you get all the track bods saying only use xyz tyre but i can tell you that there are alot of tyres that are up to the job! particularly r888, ao48, t1rs, pilot sports, goodyear eagle f1 gd3, bridgestones s03 etc etc .. thats through my personal use of them on diffrent size rims etc..

Ran them on mine. As long as you get the pressures right they're fine. Quickest VX (inc VXRs and VXTs on 48s) at the little mini sprint circuit at the last national I went to and posted quicker times than Elises on 48s at various other sprint events. Perhaps not ideal when very very hot on track but other than that I wouldn't say they 'ruin' the VX. Not at all. If I was starting again, this'd be the first thing I did above any other tuning options.

All our websites are being updated for the New Year so some things may come and go until all is sorted out. John will be busy working on them all over Christmas. The wheels are all in stock though.
