http://wiki.seloc.or..._OZ_Racing_Rims

Main contenders are

A048R - best for outright grip, very fast wear, not so good in the wet, expensive
r888 - Very similar to the A048R, cheaper, for as little as £310 per set
T1R - Good all round tyre, maybe not suited to very hard track work, as little as £250 per set

As you can see from the link, there is a very wide choice, which is one of the benefits of these rims.

888 or T1R then as those A048R are expensive.

Just to ckeck, is the T1R a better tyre than the standard Bridgestones as an all rounder? Just want to make sure that when these wheels go on, I improve the car in all ways. I only do a few track days a year so want a good mixture, but mainly aimed at the road. Martin s

I don't think so. Yes it would look better lower but it's a case of whether you are more concerned with the appearance or the handling benefits it gives. You can always change your suspension at a later date. I won't be in a hurry to change mine.

Two sets :) R888 for track and summer and a set with T1R for the rest of the year.

Track/summer set in silver and T1R set in black for when the weather is rubbish and you don't want to clean them all the time :) That's what I'm going to be doing, best of both worlds.

Im going for T1R all the time. I only get to do about 1 Track Day a year and i don't think i will get even that one next year as im out and about so much. Man plans in advance hurt my head :beat:

sorry to hijack - but if you get a good deal on R888s then I'll be very interested thumbsup Like Muncher's plans I use R888s for summer and track, and have fitted T1Rs for winter... so far very impressed with tyre... including at North Weald (sprint ccts) yesterday... very predictable when sliding around....
