And lastly, any bits that may be difficult or that would catch out a mechanical novice?

I'm no novice :P

Are you going to supply all the materials too then :P

Got word from autopartspeople.com today $122.28 thumbsup my manifold and gasket is on the way don't think the old warranty return thing is gonna work. But I tried. The importation and VAT should only be around £15 I hope . so maybe by next week end I'll have it . let the free breathing begin :flame:

WOW nearly fifty of them in the group buy, this must be a really simple DIY mod for so many people to be interested. I take it this is the bit between the airbox and the engine and its almost identical just a bit bigger?

for an average DIY mechanic it's quite straight forward, mainly nuts and bolts stuff and a few brackets to make :)

the inlet manifold is the big black plastic thing bolted to the engine rather than the intake pipe between the engine and airbox thumbsup

Apparantly Thorney has a cheaper one coming out soon. Regal do one too which is cheaper too but no one seems to have one to post a review

Exhaust is now £999, but its a true equal length - that is important. I think comparing a GM part, made of plastic and in the thousands for OEM to a a specialist short run exhaust manifold is a little unfair (in terms of price) :)

Getting cam quotes for cams that "match" the gm sport cam specs, but they arent looking "that" tasty at £500 from UK/european suppliers

JT when will you have a price for the two manifolds, maybe a bigger TB and a remap for my Stage 3? oh and the balancer shaft debate? Cheers

Hi Thorney, its probably uncharted territory, but do tms have any plans to update/tailor a new remap to get the most out of the new 2.4 manifolds or is not going to be necessary? :)

I'm assuming a remap will be needed in order to make the most of the improved breathing. Likewise, I'm assuming the new map that TMS & Superchips did for Vocky will probably not work "out of the box" for the inlet mod in isolation, as Vocky had done work to the head and cams. Would be good to know whether this will become a TMS "stage" and where it will fit in their existing lineup (assuming, of course, they offer the mod?). Presumably StageII++ (i.e. before any head work needs doing)? I've got one on order through the Z22SE group-buy and am hoping it will still allow me to keep the ITG Induction kit. Would be a shame to lose that as part of the upgrade.

Thorney is creating a new list of stages and respective maps, with different combinations of options I believe (hence the time taken; theres a lot of combinations to try!)

As for the ITG, it will fit as usual on both the 2.4 manifold and standard 58mm tb and the 2.4 manifold and larger 68mm tb.

Absolutely. More and more options on the N/A - which is great news. Wasn't knocking them, I'm just keen to get booked in and to start dipping into the menu of options.

Hoo-feckin-raah! That's great news! I really didn't want to lose the noise the ITG makes. Thanks Andyroo thumbsup
