I wonder how many crashes have been caused by this failure? Same thing happened to Foxy_jr on his LY ...and *loads* of others.

It's a little worrying, isn't it? I guess the problem isn't as widespread as we all fear but sods law says it'll happen to me if I don't do soemthing to address it. And all for the sake of a few quids worth of bolts and torqueing them up properly.

VIX, I'll put you down for a set. thumbsup

Had an email whilst out to lunch to say the bolts will despatched today - so fingers crossed they'll be with me at the start of next week. Let's not worry about money until I've got something here to exchange for it!

Paranoid is the word. Especially with the R888's, Nitrons and numerous trackdays.

Right. Going on Winstar's previous Group Buy, I'm just going to buy the minimum quantity of the two sizes (100 each). The cost will work out at about £7.50 for the full 8 bolt (front and rear) 10.9 stainless kit. That'll give me enough for 16 full kits (and a ferk load of excess longer bolts!). Is that okay with you guys?

Unfortunately, unless I buy 300 of the shorter bolts (enough for 50 full kits) I can't get the price down to the £4.30 price point and I'm not sure I wan't to risk being stuck with 40+ surplus kits.

That's all at cost and it'll need postage on top (or I can bring them to the National for anyone going there).

Matt

Matt, sort a group buy and I'll take the rest off you.

HUB CARRIER BOLTS ARE AVAILABLE FROM LOTUS! FFS how many times do we need to say it. cost £4 for the set (*4) and you don't need to buy 100. If there are no Lotus dealers near you then i know my local one does mail order: Bell and Colvill in West Horsley.

Dont know who thats aimed at.

If its me then I dont need the bolts just the carrier.

If its the others they are after stronger bolts...presumably the Lotus ones are standard strength ones?

Can someone help me: Vauxhall have ordered 2X part no. 9197846 which is desribed as Screw socket HD M10 X 50 ball joint carrier to hub (£27!!!) and 3X part no 9197788 which is desribed as Screw hex HD hub to hub carrier (£5.76) I assuming...looking at the price it's to 2nd of the two items that is the bolts we are discussing? (I also notice they've ordered some shimms...presumably to replace the ones removed when doing the geo...should handle well when i get it back then :o )
