I've encountered plenty of heat issues from my 2ubular exhaust. I initially wrapped the manifold, which helped a great deal; accept it just transferred the heat further down the exhaust. I melted 2 02 sensors an engine mount, cables & caused problems with my gearbox cables. I even melted the clam & paintwork around the single exhaust tip.

I now have heat shields covering all sensitive areas near to the exhaust. It still amazes me that all the other S/C cars out there have not also suffered the same heat problems...Yes Nick, I am also referring to you!!!

Max

I had heat issues with the pipes of the Milltek burning the clam where they exit and also holding excess heat around the silencer itself. They only materialised after i put on the diffuser so i took it off and no issues ever since. I also tried cutting holes in the diffuser (probably reducing it's dynamic effect) and the only thing that worked for me was removing it and putting the std part back on.

I'll be trying out a 2.5" manifold & system in the next 2 - 3 weeks so will see how that changes things. The heatshield between the manifold & boot is also knackered so will be replacing it as well. Did you guys use the 3, 2 or single layer nimbus material.

I noticed yesterday for the first time that it the boot gets Bl..dy hot! near the 4-1 Think I will need to put some more solf insulation under the hard stuff I have there. Also noticed my number plate is not looking too good, I saw an elise with the numbet plate spaced away from the clam with some holes under it, might try that.

I also have holes in the diffuser

So far I have had no problems with the Chris Tullett 4-1, I have a single layer of nimbus shielding running across the boot face and the boot doesn't seem to be any warmer than it has been before.

2 layer on mine. I've still got the OE "soft" shielding behind the nimbus and the interior of the boot compartment doesn't get any hotter than it was pre-manifold and pre-supercharger.

No signs of heat problems here other than possibly the rear number plate which was delaminating and I had replaced last service. Not sure whether this was heat or just age related. My diffuser is spaced down quite a bit so heat should be able to escape ok. The left-over pizza I bought back in the boot from Abbeville last trip stayed cold and was edible the next day for breakfast!! (Yes really, sorry!) ;)

200 bhp N/A already kills the number plate and gearbox cables in fact

e techieboy, I used 2 layer and also like techieboy, used the spare stuff to add a layer of extra protection under the boot lid. All seems ok at the mo. Martin s

http://www.nimbusmotorsport.com/

I called these guys and spoke to Steve. What he doesn't know about heat control aint worth knowing.

I bought some Nimbus GII for the bulkhead (thanks for the template Techieboy) and will use the exhuast wrap for the manifold.

I can well recommend talking to these folks.

excuse me for resurrecting this old post but it seems to cover the topic well - having the same heat shield melting issues as described above (i.e just next to the manifold on the side of the boot) - currently have a tullet manifold and exhaust (NA CS5+) - thinking of using this stuff instead of nimbus :

 http://www.ebay.co.u...=item4182ef577a

Just wondered if anyone else had tried it (looks similar to the original shielding and should be a lot easier to fit than nimbus....
