My understanding was that the main limiting factor was the rev limit. More revs, more power - until it all goes bang!Not so sure if the old decompressed SC's will bring more power with just a remap... (Rods out of the equation!) Looking to this torque graph I cannot see much what can be improved.

Before my car goes in for the SC conversion in August I'm considering fitting these stage one comp cams that I had already bought.

Comp cams has a blower grind too...
If you really go to a SC conversion as soon as August, why not directly get these ones ?

And mount some stiffer valve springs with these, so you can raise the rev limit...
As you see in the graph, power is still climbing.

What pulley sized is used for the 2.2 SC conversions?
On the Courtenay website it doesn't look like the stock GM pulley...

Was a smaller pulley on the decomp kit, but not sure they retained a pulley that small on the stock CR one
