Yea I know what you mean about really seeing it. I do think though a simple 4-1 design would be best though.

if you want it cheap then it's the only way your going to get it.

But it will be far from ideal for NA performance, SC on the other hand just needs to be able to get the gas out quickly.

Yep thumbsup

I was bored so I knocked this up, I've not got the measurments of the std manifold but it's about the right size, and the runners are more or less equal but short for a NA.

Should be pretty cheap as it only has 2 bends per runner, although welding the collector could be a tricky.

Has there been any development on the 2.2 exhaust manifold replacement? I have spoken to regal autosport who have confirmed that they no longer sell the SS one. I'm changing the exhaust soon and would like to do the manifold at the same time if I can but just can't justify the TMS one. Its not a clam off job is it to change the manifold?

Certainly was when we fitted the TMS 4-1 onto mine. Not sure about the cheaper dBilas version though.

It is a clam off job I'm afraid. I appreciate our one isn't cheap but its not expensive becasue we make a load of profit in it, in fact our margin is 15% - hardly unreasonable considering the development time. THe fact it survived the 24hr race in perfect shape and is a proven power gain I think its remakably good value. They are hand made to order.

I might be interested to see what comes of this thread, as i have previoously said one of the bolts on my manifold has cross threaded , been told its easier to just replace the whole manifold? this maight be an excuse then to explore whats available.

Yes, a couple of us have added extra heat insulation on the boot bulkhead after MartinS's OEM heatshield melted. It didn't do it to my standard heatshield but I upgraded mine just in case (do lots of trackdays, so didn't want to risk it). No other clam modification required.

Martin's OEM heatshield

it would seem such a shame to put heat wrapping on it!

Yeah the heat insulation should be removed and repalced with heat barrier (self adhesive stuff is fine) which costs about £20. We've never wrapped them, haven't needed to, even on the 24hr car.

Yep, clam off. THe item is a work of art I agree and I'm happy to see if the supplier will offer us a bigger discount for 10 (I doubt it seeing as they are hand made but its worth a go right?) but we'd need to get a definite 10 people, is that feasable?

I have since replaced the factory heat insulation on the clam with some decent heat barrier material, it works so well I've removed the heat wrap from my weaponR manifold and have had no problems thumbsup
