I think they are also planning to make a smaller version, possibly without the raised sides, I'll give them a bell later in the week if I get chance thumbsup :)

Do you have any idea whether these would fit S1 Elise runners? It'd be great to be able to buy one without having to make special brackets. Cheers.

Did a search on SELOC and it looks like the S1 seat subframes are different from the VX220. http://arc.seloc.org...ge=1#pid2170346 But the Vx subframes fit the S1, apparently, so if I were to go down this route I'd have to get a Vx seat subframe.

Is anyone able to tell me... can the drivers seat still slide forwards and backwards? I would presume so with the standard subframes being used. Important because I would stil like to be able to stow the sort top behind there and I like my seat in different positions depending on which shoes I am wearing.

Be intersting to know what the leg room is like and how tall the people are that are happy with this seat. I'll be fitting a FIA Motordrive seat to an Elise S1 this weekend. Price is circa £250. If its a good install I'll post up information here.

Has anyone got these fitted to their car somewhere near Reading, that would be willing to let me sit in them? I need to check head clearance, rake and generally how they feel before committing.
Cheers
Phil

I dont remember if i made a note before it went in. It's a seat they designed for the Bowler so I'm sure they could say if asked.

tempted to get a mog or something else with lots of side support, does this one work with the seat slide rails or is it fixed?

Have just read through this and remain confused over availability, lower sides, use of existing seatbelts, where to try for size etc. I'm probably going to be after a driver's seat in the New Year. If this one doesn't have low sides it's probably not going to work for me. FWIW I tried a Cobra Racer 7 on Saturday at Merlin Motorsport at Castle Combe. Way too narrow for my lardy @rse! I think the next stop will have to be someone who sells a Tillett B5 so that I can try it for size. Any ideas who near MK might have one? chinky chinky

Did it fit well?

It was a tight fit in the elise S1 (there is much less room than an S2) but it fitted without having to make any changes to the chassis. We had to tweak the mounting brackets slightly. Harnesses fixed with eyes to the floor. Standard belts not an option.

It came with a big cushion which was too deep so we left that out (velcro'd in).

The seat itself would probably fit upto a 36in waist. It's not a wide seat and becuase the sides are vertical rather than sloped out i dont think it would be suitable for anyone bigger.

The driving position was ok but would benefit from being a little lower.

Seats are tricky in the elise becuase of the overall height restrictions and the 'troff' the seat fits in. If it was a flat bottommed floor it would be easy to get round. It also doesnt help that the elise is neither a single seater or a saloon.

with some playing around could get a saloon style seat to fit well (with harnesses only) but at the moment it isnt a suitable solution for a consumer. you're going have to approach the bespoke solutions for a direct fit jobby. everything else (thats cheaper) is a make-it-fit solution.
