ahem...240 supercharged hp....
speedy, you seem a pretty realistic man.....  :P
...do you really think it would be so much fun to drive such thing?

I have a 270bhp supercharged Lotus Exige, and I can assure you it's lotsa fun !

If there's a reliable supercharge upgrade for the VX220 I'd be very interested.

Just been talking to Delta-motor this afternoon. They've got 4 Speedsters running superchargers and they're still finalising details before applying for homologation. They reckon they will have around 204-205bhp. B) Told me they should have it sorted in about 4 weeks, so I'll give them a call in early May. Knowing how these things generally go, it will probably be sorted by the summer hols at earliest. :beat:    Just helps me to confirm that I'm on the right track financially as well as from power-to-weight ratio with the supercharger. Will report back when I know more. :)

Any idea on total cost, and is self fitting possible? Would it also render my dbilas intake manifold redundant? ta d

They confirmed today that it will be ca. 10,00.00 Swiss Francs (+ 500 for Swiss approval in my case). As already mentioned, wiser for us N/A's than trading in for a VXT and possibly better track tool. B) re. self-fitting: bit awkward because of air metering, etc. I would think, but if you know competent mechanics who have experience in the field you could perhaps have all the necessary stuff shipped to you rather than coming to Switzerland for fitting, but then you would forfeit any guarantee I strongly suspect.

interesting....I will get a quote in Italy from a shop specialized on supercharged elises (in genova), if devl. costs were to be about the same I will stay with Delta, if subtantially lower ( as I suspect, since it's around 4000 euros for the elises) I might give it a shot someday... on my last track trip there was a supercharged s1 with 185 hp that was really something.....45000km and not a problem.

Yeah, the Delta-Motor guy reckoned heat was not a problem, whereas with the turbo it's getting a bit near the mark.. but then he would say that wouldn't he! :D

I was concerned about heat from the turbo but since using one on road and track I'm no longer worried. I spent 2 hours sitting in traffic and the temperature to 97 degrees, the fan kicked in and dropped it to 92 degrees. On a track I drove the thing hard and it didn't go over 87 degrees. It was a reasonably cold day but I expected it to go higher than than, the vents really do their job. :D

David, do you know if Turbo Technics have any plans for a VX supercharger?
Most Elise owners with TT upgrades seem to end up with more reliable cars than they started with, even with your nutter-conversion!
It certainly seemed to suit the character of the Exige too, and damn is it fast B)

I've not spoken to them recently (which is a good thing, given I only ever talk to them when something goes wrong !), but I'll give them a call and see if they're considering it.

It costs them a fair bit to "tool up" for a job, so I'm not sure if the VX is a large enough market (compared to the Elise)

funnily enough here's one i wrote earlier-to tt regarding superchargers and the answer was: Unfortunately we haven't developed the super charger conversion for the Vauxhall only the Lotus. Unfortunately I don’t know of any one who is doing any work on them either the only people I can suggest who may be able to point you in the correct direction are Courtenay Sport who can be contacted at info@courtenaysport.co.uk. I hope this is of some assistance to you and thankyou for your enquiry. :( cheers d

I certainly would be interested in a supercharger if Regal offered one. And ofcourse the more poeple interested , the cheaper its going to be! If we get 5 or 6 people together, it may give Minime the amo to get regal to give it real consideration. Who else would be interested???

when i spoke to regal about this they said that with a supercharger you do not get low down power.....basically the power delivery is at the top end 4500+ rpm......but with the rest of their mods it is possible that the power will be 240+ with a poss 210lbft.... its very tempting.....regal has said that they will talk to some of their usa friends about this... on another note they have suggested that swapping the 2.2 for a z20let tubo engine is also possible.....but i think this will prove quite expensive as it will mean new fittings/cooler/exhaust etc...... as soon as i find out more i will let you know!
