So he was disappointed to see the vx. Who does he think he is? Notice he still has not divulged what he is driving now. Is he a wind up merchant, or is he just short of a few marbles? vx 220 n/a or turbo, great cars, and anyone who knows anything about their driving experience would never be disappointed by their performance. Just shows that his knowledge of performance cars is nil.

I see your point, but owning a car like the VX/Lotus is quite a commitment if you want to use it daily and for practical purposes.

Also probably a badge snob, he mentions Porsche, BMW etc and gets a Vauxhall

Funny… he used to drive a Clio (not even a sport). His standards can't be too high

No the hairdresser was late first thing and that threw everything out.

Just as well she was late as my Mum, Aunt, Uncle and Grandfather were held up in traffic and only just got there in time. If she had been on time, Mum would have missed the wedding.

Just been watching the episodes again and I really badly want those black OZ wheels that are fitted to the silver N/A in the John Thorney interview bit. Anyone know where to get em, model name, prices and sizes? chinky chinky

I don't see why you're giving him a hard time. VX220s aren't suited to MOST people, it's not a good idea to just throw one at someone and tell them "this is your car now, pay me more than it's worth"... I'm sure those of us who have ended up in these cars put a lot of effort into 1. researching them and making sure it's the correct car for you, and 2. finding the right one! and at the right price he didn't do either of these! so it's no wonder he rejected it. Even I, who love these cars would've told him to get lost at £13k!

It is not due to him turning the car down it is more due to his attitude and ego added to the fact he was only on the show to buy a cheap car at somebody else's expense to then sell for a profit.

I wouldn't have bought the car either.

Sorry Tiff, you had me onside to start with.

Now those that know me will realise that I am a placid mild mannered guy who tends to ignore threads that annoy, aggravate or even anger but for you, I will make an exception as you are special.

We are all on here because we love our cars. Now I have already agreed that the car was overpriced and that I wouldn't have bought it but please don't come on here saying it was a disappointment and you wish it had been a Porshe and you were expecting so much more. I have an standard(ish) NA and cannot count the number of 911s I have been past on a track day and personally I love my little car.

Now you say you only went into the show wanting to get a smashed up bargain repaired at somebody else's expense then sell it for a quick profit.

THAT SUCKS.

Let somebody else be the star of the show that genuinely wants to be on there, not just for a quick buck and five minutes of fame.

I have worked with TV production companies before and have had my own 30 minutes of fame and know how tight their budgets are and not for one moment did I think where the profit for me was at others expense.

Your attitude actually sickens me and I hope you now bog off to a forum where your "I'm the bloke off the telly" attitude impresses folk because frankly, nobody on here gives a sh**.

Just reread this thread and this is possibly my favourite post I have ever written. Tiff really ticked me off.

Just read this thread for the 1st time and had to admit it did make me laugh. Thought your post was well made Cliffie and to the point. It was just sad that we may never find out what car this true leg end bought in the end.

just read the whole topic. Cliffie Imnotworthy I can perfectly understand the reason why the car was not bought but to say your dissapointed to see the VX on a VX forum is shooting yourself in the foot some what.
