Links - Stage 4 with Intercooler
Further debate on Intercoolers and Chargecoolers
For the stage 4 you will also need the high flow injectors. You can run stage 4 with 2.75 inch exhaust but you will get better gains with a 3 inch.
ETA But I will agree with your statement Steve

Proven nothing. I thought we'd already thrashed this one to death
. The MMG intercooler has been proven to work on a Stage 4 VXR.

ETA But I will agree with your statement Steveabout upgrading your own car as you know its history.
Proven to work on one run maybe.

Then I'd have a DB9Bob if I said I would pay for you to have fitted either a charge cooler or a larger intercooler, which would you chose?
In this senario I'm a millionaire and money is no object.

If I were to fit an Intercooler or a Chargecooler? Well then I'd chose the Intercooler. MUCH easier to fit. If I'm not fitting it and I'm having it as part of my Stage 4 package then I'd be straight to MMG no question. I have already had my stage 2 there and trust Liam completely.

Erm driving to Le Mans in 27 degree heat and sitting in traffic would amount to hours. Then on track I believe was best part of a day. Hardly ONE run!

I agree fitting it yourself the I/c is easier but if you didn't have to and I were to pay for everything you would chose the c/c.

So if I were to take you and your car to your beloved Liam and pay him to fit either a C/c or his I/c you would pick the I/c!

The stock intercooler is sh** (but adequate up to stage 2). So you can keep thatBob I still have my standard intercooler, do you want it so you can mount it laterally to your standard one for more cooling.

LiarI wouldn't one day think, Mmmmmmm you know what, my Intercooler needs upgrading what should I do? My next mod is likely to be the suspension. IF I were to NEED to change my IC, i.e. go for Stage 3 or Stage 4 then yes I'd go to MMG and have the IC.
