:yeahthat: Do you carry it around in a handbag? :gayfight:

Other than that, the soundproofing is no big deal and it's going under carpets so not going to be visible.
Good luck on getting it finished. thumbsup

You might like whats going to power the system PUPPY POWER

hmm so no cup holder for you or you thinking of putting it in the boot??? (wouldn't be putting it in the cavity behind the seats, where's the sub going to go!? :))

sooo we have 2 people in the car audio industry now, perhaps you can do me a VX220 discount on a 10inch sub? :D

I brought this subox and while the Hertz isn't bad I'd like something a bit more gutsy, say a JL Audio 10W6?
What say you gurus?

Mainly cause I'm pretty old school with my car audio I went with JL, most of the decent brands seem to have gone by the wayside since my days **grabs walking stick to shoo away pesky kids**

Not thought about the cup holder thing!!
Im not in the industry, im a gas dealer/embbroidery & printing specialist (so if you guys want any T Shirts done!!)

I enjoy listening to the music nowadays, dont need thump thump thump in the background.
I have had JL, DLS etc before but im not 19 anymore so a punchy 10w6 is not where im going with this install. Im not sure what sub/s if any to put in yet, cross that once the components are in and running.

Couldnt hold off any longer so i ordered my front clam today, hopefully it will be here by next weekend ish, bonnets been dropped off to the paint shop to have the grill replaced on one side and colour matched. What mesh have you guys used for the big hole in the clam? or should i get the original stuff? Thanks to IvarS for my new heater box and brake pipes comming from sweeden, gonna seal it up soon as it arrives. New heater pipes from ebay (autoperformanceonline) turned up with my beast of a Stebel twin tone horn. Think my missis is starting to feel left out  Need a Passenger side headlight if anyone knows where i gan get a nice one?

Part 4 Security Section After 5 evenings, one very wet one, my alarm etc is finally installed, had a daft moment with fitting of the remote start, after 20 mins checking relays and a lot of head scratching later we realised with the dash off you still start the car with the button!! In my excuse i have only had the car 5 mins and drove it twice  Next up is the boot release, just need to source a small solonoid and bonnet lifter then this section is done ready for the fitting of the stereo equipment, hopefully we will start that on monday Thankyou IvarS for the heater box http://www.vx220.org...197_1342855.jpg All sealed up and fitted back in the car, much happier now its replaced, will fit the new heater pipes tomorrow weather permitting

Sealed up the underside of the dash and Managed to fit the new heater pipe this afternoon, the car took forever to reach 85 deg but once it did it was nice and cosy inside, i gotta say i was perhaps expecting a little more flow but i guess its only a little fan in a small box, still, happy with the results, especially if the 2 fartherest vents are closed, dont know how bad it may have been as ive never been in a VX before. I'll just have to remember to leave the heater on the night before and warm the car a little earlier than my last car. Spoke to Village Fox or MVS racing in wales regarding my clam and i was told it would be on its way tomorrow for tuesday delivery. Its like christmas come early :) Just need to source a passenger side headlight and im almost ready for MOT time. http://www.vx220.org...197_1237265.jpg Stereo section tomorrow too :) :)

front clam came yesterday, courrior managed to crack the bit that goes under the top of the clam, little annoyd but it will not be seen. fit seems ok, its gonna be fun trying to glue it all together. might leave it to the bodyshop  got all the cables in for the audio and video, had to re route the pre out cables lower on the side of the sill as the sill cover is such a snug fit. the back shelf was also a very tight fit, the dynamat threw out all the holes 1/4 inch, alpine screen needed several spacers for the screen to pop out and miss the overlapping dash. pics to follow. carpet is also in, very happy with the finished look, nice n snug, thanks fred666. just need a headlight and the bodyshop can have her for a few days. i need some advice on the headlight bulbs as i have no cable on my headlight like your ment to but as i want to fit high n low hid bulbs will it matter? any advice on which kit is best?

Well not been able to do much while i was waiting for a 2nd headlight, cant put it off any longer so i had to get a new one from AutoVaux today, hopefully it will be here thursday.

Car is booked in for Monday the 25th so only 7 days away from being fitted, prepped, primed and painted

still not sure what im doing about the fog lights, there are a few sets available but no mounting brackets. I'll have a chat with the spray shop tomorrow about it.

Ordered a HID lighting kit, hopefully that will arrive before they refit the clam.

The alarm has settled down now and the proximity sensor has been adjusted, seems to work very well on this car compared to others, probably due to the fiberglass pannels.

Stereo sounds flatter than in my last car too, i think im going to have to replace the rear surround with a custom one similar to the sub box i saw on here, i will probably split the box in the middle to let each driver have its own space, hopefully generating better depth.

Below is a pic of what she looks like sitting in my garden, very excited now waiting to see her finished in metallick black.

Good progress thumbsup We left the fog lights out on ours as the brackets were rotten and never used them anyway, probley use the holes as brake ducts or something  Sam.

Sam.

You'll definitely need to stick some ducting in there, if you're not fitting the fog lights. I know of one VX'er who lost his arch liner and a good chunk of the sill at high speed, due to the force of the air coming through the fog light holes, with nowhere else to go. :o

Is it me or are all the holes missing ie side indicators, mounting holes, headlamp fixings etc Also you need to align the bonnet correctly adjusting the hinge bracket as this cannot be done with the clam fitted.
