Shite - really sorry to hear this. Such a shame to see a well-loved VX in pieces especially when it's the pride and joy of a regular .org contributor.....
Respect to you for not moaning and groaning and making excuses. Accidents happen and it could have been far worse as you probably know, so what the hell, eh?
Lets hope you are back in a replacement or re-assembled VX soon
Oh, and Happy Christmas.....

As everyone else has said, main thing is you and your passenger are unhurt. Your "chin up" approach to dealing with the aftermath is very refreshing. Hope it all works out for you, and wish your Mum a speedy recovery.

Oh bollocks
No one likes to see a crashed VX, especially a blue one. Best of luck to you getting it back in one piece. If you don't, stick around on the forum anyway

I am truly sorry to see this and hear about the broader family problems, but as others have said... I have massive respect for you having taken both things in such a good spirit.
It is a shame to see another car end up this way, but as always so long as the occupants are safe then that is all that is important. You have been a great help to me and others on here and I am sure that it will be returned 2fold at somepoint in the future by people on here or elsewhere.
Hope you have a good Christmas alll the same.
