Ah right i see where you mean. I wont be using that tyre crap

A turbo generally shouldn't whine as such. Normally that would point towards the turbo dying... Does it happen only on boost, or at other times also?
And yes, bulbs changed by removing the front lights as Mangham said. Takes a few mins, but not difficult.
Whereabouts are you in the uk?

Doesnt seem to be just on boost but may be wrong... cant hear it all the time because of the exhaust but its sort of an induction noise. Im from Newcastle

To be fair, they do have a little whine on the induction side, certainly more than any other turbocharged car i've driven.

Ok cheers, its in for a service anyway so will see what they say. Is it best to take it to a lotus garage as the young Vauxhall mechanics will want to drive the car. How much roughly is a service for these? And should a geo setup be done once a year?

Depending on what service it actually needs...

It's a 54 plate, so in theory the cambelt won't need done until 2012, but depends when it was last done. Needs to be changed every 4 years.

Think there's a few decent specialists near you - someone more local will probably be on soon to advise.

You have a potential fire risk on your top fuel line which has come loose from its attachment to the coolant tank bracket. Get it fixed buddy - now. I speak from experience.

I've spotted this on at least three other turbos belonging to forum owners.

Regarding the turbo whine and suggestion that your turbo might be dying - I'm surprised the car feels slower than your astra, if its stage 2 it ought to be noticeably quicker. Maybe the 2 issues are related? Do you know what power it is supposed to be running?

Sorry?? are you suggesting 20K for a cambelt. Its every 40,000 miles or every 4 years whichever is the sooner.

My astra was stage 3 running 300bhp though, if that makes a difference? Its supposed to be running 241bhp as i have the graphs from previous owner. TBH i found it hard to pull away from a Fiesta ST from second gear, he pretty much kept up untill forth gear
