Scw02102 and myself are both in the Medway towns. If you get the bits you need to do it then we will be ready to go. It might be an idea to get some of the fir tree clips as well, unless you want to Velcro the door panels back on. I managed to reuse the old clips, but it wasn't particularly easy!

my passenger window makes a horrible noise when you shut the door, it sounds like someone is hitting the window with something metal every time the door is shut.  I took the door card off today and one of the 3 bolts that holds the window to the winder mechanism has sheered off.  Its the one nearest the door opening.  Can the strip that is attached to the glass come off and be replaced/repaired? and can they be bought.  I assume if i undo the other 2 bolts, i could lift the glass out??  I can possibly weld it but wouldnt want to do it with the glass attached.

any help appreciated

I'm working this Sunday, and the next I'm hopefully going to the Rallycross, but might be able to make the one after that. I used the mini trunking from B&Q, like in the first post. Not sure what size clips they are, I guess Vauxhall would sell them, or eBay if you can find the size on here.

After several years of a rattling pax window, Hainesy and I finally fixed mine tonight doing it the easy way without removing the guide rail.  A job really well worth doing and I now have no rattle and a great seal between the window and the A and B pillars.   :D.  The only PITA was trying to get the silver door handle guard back in place around the black hard plastic main door card.

For future reference, the trunking you want is 15mm wide.  B&Q sell it for £4.98 for 2m which should be just about enough to do 4 windows.

Nelly has just commissioned me to do his windows at the National this Saturday.

You can fiddle with his windows but buy him a drink before you try to work on the back door 😃
