I "befriended" a fellow TVR owner from the midlands because he happened to snap some photos of my car. Some days later, facebook in it's wisdom suggested Steve's friend Craig as someone I might know... The name sounded familiar, so I clicked to find out who he was - but accidentally clicked on "send a friend request" instead. It seems there is no way to undo such a request - so I had to wait until he accepted me before I could "unfriend" him again - but obviously not before he latched onto Ali - sorry!

Hmmm, a likely story Baz Posted Image

I wish I had something useful to add to this thread but <sigh>, I am a nobody.

I met Paul McCartney in my local sweetie shop in about 1986. The only time I was a bit star struck though was when I was stood next to Stephen Hawking, didnt know what to say to him.

Leo McKern - in my youth, excessively speeding down from Trafalgar Square and some short old geezer with a hat and cane steps out from the pavement without looking. I skid to a halt, uttering some profanity at him and then realise that the scared looking gent is Rumpole of the bailey. Btw. yes, I do hate the fact that I was an irresponsible driver when I was 18. Martin Clunes - another 'running into' incident but less lethal. Jogging along absent mindedly on my usual route along the back of South Bank and he hops out the sliding door of a people carrier (they gather at the back of ITV building) causing me to swerve. I glance at him, think ‘ah, that’s Martin’ and say ‘alright Martin’ to which he answers ‘alright running man’. It’s at this point I realise I don’t actually know him and that it’s that ‘Martin Clunes’ off Men Behaving Badly – oops. He’s very tall. Jonathan Ross was at the table next to us in Planet Hollywood once (when it was new). At one point he went over to shake hands with some yobbos at another table, when he came back my girlfriend asked him “who are they then?” to which he smirked and said “East 17, I didn’t know ‘til I was told either”. He's very tall as well. My daughter’s best friend’s dad is a footballer but as I hate and detest football I don’t know who he is other than to occasionally chat to. Unfortunately his daughter is always showing off demonstrating what I like least about footballers, ah yes I’ve got two iphones and three ipods and a swimming pool and a Jacuzzi and a…. Makes it a pig at Christmas time when my daughter unwraps her orange complaining about what her friend would’ve got. The camp chappie off ‘Thin Blue line’ and ‘Gimme gimme gimme’. I can’t remember his name now and I couldn’t when we saw him on the platform once, he was looking happy and chatty so I said something along the lines of his show had me in stitches to which he thanked me. Seemed a thoroughly nice chap :gayfight: I know it's just supposed to be my experiences but thought these worth a mention; A few years back my mate who is a bit of a ‘player’ once told me about his latest conquest. After a week of getting it on he found out she was on Eastenders but he didn’t watch it, he knew she was an actress but assumed she was in the theatre. More interested in the shagging than what she did for work. Told him that he was a bullshitter to which he showed me some err…ahem... ‘personal’ photos on his phone and yep, I recognised her straight away. Don’t know her name but she had quite a square jawline. A few for my Mum, she knows John Lennon’s sister. She once was playing games with the little kids from a young family at a table next to her in Harrods. Wondered why people asked for chaps autograph – turns out it was Mark Owen. My wife (massive Take That fan) has never forgiven her for coming back empty handed.

About 15 years ago I biffed Liz Hurley after a night out in Nottingham. The thing that most stuck in my head was when she said thankyou to me after we finished, it made us both hysterical for at least a minute once it sunk in.

Biffed? Just to clarify. You nobbed her. Right? You didn't punch her?

If the former then this:

You have a nearly 500bhp VX in black and you nobbed Liz Hurley. I stand in awe before you. You are living my dream. (and she thanked you. heh)

Nev Imnotworthy Gbob, Tony Hadley Imnotworthy an all time great and Joe will have Astley jealousy. I was once walking through Essen airport with a colleague when Jeff Goldblum walked the other way. I said to my colleague (much louder than I should have),"Christ, that's Jeff Goldblum" and we both turned round to look at the same time he turned round and said hi to us. Bumped into half of Bucks Fizz on Regent Street ons Christmas. Chatted to Toyah Wilcox who was happy to sign my album when I met her backstage. Was in the same production of Joseph as Bruno Antolioni off Strictly Come Dancing and did a Bertold Brecht play with Charmian Gradwell off The Adventure Game and Howard's Way.
