I was in Sri Lanka, then London. My clock is all over the place. I'm terrible for jet lag. Takes me weeks to get back to normal.

For me personally, I can condition myself. During term time i go into going to bed at around 11:30 - 12am and then wake up again at 7:30, it is just that as soon as the holidays come I natually have a pattern of 3am-10am and feel i sleep a lot better quality in terms of sleep (althought his may also come down to the fact that during the holidays i am not thinking about work and working 70 hours a week!).

I'm the same, can adapt pretty easily, my "holiday mode" sleep pattern is similar to yours.
If I'm doing 24hr call for a week, I tend to have a small nap after work then stay up till about 2am then get up for work as usual at 6ish, depends on a few different factors though

that is very similar to me, I am on 24 hour call for about 6-8 weeks and then i get a week or longer off. I really do need the holidays when they come though; although it does suit me. i get to be frantic and work really hard and then have proper down time. Weekends always seem too short for me to do anything, so i do not miss them during term time.

I am also back in this mode again. The new job hasn't turned out to be so peachy, so back to working again :( Back to 3 am sleep, 7 am wake up. Odd that I feel tired through the day and that at 10pm I seem to then go into alert mode till 2am...

Hello OP I was supposed to be in Frankfurt this week. It got cancelled (adverse weather or some nonsense). I cannot sleep as my plans are all over the place. Now I am tired and posting on revived threads.

Had like 4 hours sleep on Monday night. Tonight none until I finally started drifting off at a little before 4am only to be woken up at 4am by 30 kids with drums and large bells marching through the village for some stupid religious festival crap. I opened the door and went onto the balcony naked and shouted at them as loud as I could like Peter Finch in Network, but no one could hear me above the drums and bells and no one joined in.

I nearly went outside to get them on the way back with my jet wash but thought better of it.

Naked? Balcony? In winter? Switzerland?

Two peas and a maggot springs to mind

I'm so tired right now I'm surprised I remembered. There's a guy at work who's had a baby. I've been making loads of joke about how nice it is to sleep all night. Poetic justice.

Well, I thought it was funny. Even if it's not original.
