I'll have you know I had peas on Sunday. Felt it was probably worth getting straight back on the horse, so to speak.

How many bottles do you need/want?

A dozen would be a huge help :) gonna do a trial of half glass half plastic to see if there is a difference

I've checked and I've got ten ale bottles sitting in my recycling box you're welcome to. They'll need a quick clean, and as I no longer have a dishwasher I'm not going to offer to do it for you. Can leave them outside your front door Thursday if you like.

Just for my own curiosity as much as anything would attempting to brew beer in plastic bottles not lead to issues with pressure/burst bottles? Or does not much happen once it's individually bottled?

I believe it's only adding fizz at the bottle stage so the violence is much lower and kinder to the bottles. I could be wrong

I wouldn't risk using plastic bottles I use 5 gallon barrels which have a pressure release valve on them and I have heard them letting of pressure occasionally but obviously there will be more pressure with 40 pints so you MAY get away with plastic bottles.

Going on the commercial beer suppliers use plastic for club and festival beers, so they can't be terrible

True. I would just be worried that you'd leave the beer somewhere you dont regularly check, a bottle would burst, then you come to check it in a few weeks time and your house would smell like a pub cellar.

Aside from lost beer, I don't see the problem?

yes when you prime the bottles that is adding the fizz. I have done 1 or 2 plastic bottles in the past when I run out of glass and it was fine.. they were 1L

(if it bursts it not my fault)

Kegged it up on Friday the 13th after 12 days in the brew bin (a sort of halfway between the uk and USA methods) so should be able to try some this friday, but might leave it an extra week. Gonna do either an ipa or a wheat beer asap
