The M1155's need one press of the brakes and then they work very well. They are also very ggood value for money - Camskill were doing Front and Rear pads with discs for £200 + Delivery Imnotworthy thumbsup

Thats a hard offer to pass up....

Once there is some heat in the front tyres too they even better

I've been using the 1155 on track without issues. Don't last ages but they are cheap compared to CL5 or pagids I think.

another thumbsup for 1155. Although they are dusty as anything and mine squeal like a b1tch on heat! Two track days 1500 miles and no washing though and the wheels cleaned up really easily :)

If it wasn't for the bad feedback with cl5+ I would of gone for these as they seem to fit into my needs. I'm swaying more towards the pagids as I'm not keen on the idea of loads of brake dust from the mintex. Any 1 else used pagids and there thoughts?

You need to weigh up the dust issue..... EG some pads might make little dust but it could be evil stuff that will never come off (PFB97's for example), but then you could get a dusty pad like the 1144 or CL5+ but it washes off with total ease even after months. I never found the 1155's lacking even stone cold on the first press. Put it this way, they were still better than OEM/Greenstuff could ever be

Brake dust can't really be avoided Aimy, best thing you can do is get the wheels super clean and then get them sealed with a few layers of something like JetSeal 109, FK1000P, or Gtechniq C5 then all that should be required to clean them should be a weak dilution of wheel cleaner like bilberry or even just a quick blast with a jet wash. If you've got the time to go to town on your wheels I'd recommend washing > claying > tardis > iron x > washing > polishing if needed > sealing. Takes bloody ages but is worth it in the long run

Just put cl5+ on my car. For trackdays. They do clonk when brakes are applied so could do with some anti rattle pads which apparently stops it.

The mintex are cheapest by far and IMO have the best value to performance ratio of all options. Unless your a really handy driver (i am not saying that your not...) who does trackdays often you probably wont feel the benefit of the (much) more expensive options. However if money aint an option I heard the CL5's have nice shiny packaging :D

Hi Aimy, I really do think if you're not going to do track days then anything other than Mintex 1144 or 1155s is over speccing as you simply won't be using them to their potential but will be paying for the privilege. The serious track pads are good on the road but only come into their own when you start to get some serious heat into them, which you wouldn't on the road unless you were driving like Schumi for a good stint. I'd suggest you start with the Mintex and then move up from them if you feel you need to. That way you get a reference point and get to save your hard earned. Mintex is a really good pad and perfect for road, it gives excellent initial bite, good progression and good feel. It's very reassuring underfoot and helps give confidence on stopping. @JG - I agree with most things you write but on the Ferrodos I'd have preferred soggy wood to my set :D. It's interesting how we have such a difference in experience with them on the 4 pots. Once I changed from them to Pagids it was like night and day difference in feel, but they are obviously working for you thumbsup

1155 s get my vote. The dust just wipes off with its weekend wash and they transformed my car from the crap I had on. On the Scotland Hoon which is probably the most stick my brakes will get they made the car so much faster to drive as I could leave the braking so much later than before with more confidence. Great road pad

To be honest I had Red stuff for a while and bearing in mind I am very careful with my money (tight) I binned them after a thousand miles or so, I cannot see you doing any worse than them. No dust though but that might be down to there being barely any braking. Since then I have had bog standard Mintex, M1144 and some Mintex Xtreme. The 1144 were very dusty and wore out very fast, the Xtreme have been brilliant with medium dust and have been on years but hard to get hold of now, though some people have suggested they are renamed 1155 so they will probably be my next pad.

for reference, 55's will last approx 3 times longer than 44's, and they aren't double the price ;)
