At least two of the companies I rang today said that CCI's prices have gone through the roof when I told them my renewal was with CCI. Also found Henderson Taylor couldn't quote as they use the same system or something via Aviva so if your renewal is with CCI then HT can't quote you.

I had guaranteed value as a 15 add on. Is it worth it and would it include all mods? I know they play silly buggers when it comes to paying out, but aren't they supposed to replace like for like anyway (assuming it was declared)? The best bit if it was that I had to take photos of the car from all angles - I love taking pics of my car!

Admiral only cover original car as received from the factory, regardless of what is declared. I know, I just had a claim (on a different car) and they didn't cover the LPG conversion (declared). To be fair, they do state it clearly on policy.

So do CCI payout for everything declared and documented? When I spoke to them on the phone recently I was under the impression that was the case1 I planned to change from Admiral to someone like CCI this year to take advantage of the track day cover and matched no claims bonus, even if it meant paying a bit more on my premium.

Yes if you have receipts to prove its apparently like for like,I'm sure you can only build your no claims up to 5 though and after that you don't?

Just bought my insurance with Sky insurance, £550 with £350 excess, all mods declared and also allows driving of other cars 3rd party. Happy with that :) .

Did you apply online or call them ?

Site claims online is currently down, will be back soon. Just wondering if that is a permanent thing...

I called them; the specialists (CCI, Henderson Taylor, Classic line, Sky, Green Light, Need to Insure, A Plan, Adrian Flux) seem to be better if you speak on the phone and explain circumstances. For example Classic Line said they only usually insure over 30s but because I had had my car for 4 years without incident they ended up offering me the 2nd best quote I got.

Just had a renewal notice from CCI despite the fact I'm insured with ClassicLine! :beat: I moved away from CCI last year as they were uncompetitive. Just checked their 'renewal' premium this year against their quote last year. Last year they were uncomptitive at £459 and this year they want £557! A 21% increase with no change in circumstances. Lets see what ClassicLine offer as a renewal.

Sky offer anything for TD's Si?

Nope, not as part of the deal unfortunately. Classic Line offer unlimited track days as long as they are club organised though, I got the same final price with them but Sky's offer included driving other cars on the policy which was the deal clincher for me. Sky have recently launched this though.

Can't remember which ones specifically but a few of them asked how many business miles so at least some are OK.

Naomi's CTR is with sky - they've been a pleasure to deal with. They did say they were looking at addin TD cover sometime in the future as an option.

Classic Line just quoted me 600, Adrian Flux £1500  CCI said as it was my primary car they wouldn't be interested... I'm sure someone has put a random number generator into the software these guys use.

CCI were ok with me for that. I was with them for 3 years, they were happy to issue me with a letter showing full no claims (more than 5 years) despite their certificate stating 5 years.
Apparently their premiums went up a lot in the last year unless you removed commuting.

I'm with REIS now for the Elise though as CCI (Aviva) no longer cover Elise S1's for under 40s...
