Sorry to hear about your misfortune. I had plenty of people pull out on me when I had my silver one. Now that I have a red one I dont seem to get it as much. I am always wary of it though.

Hope you get it sorted soon

Shame to log on after a perfect weekend at Goodwood and read this.

If you don't want the car 'written off' DO NOT involve your own insurance.  Either claim yourself directly from his insurer or involve an 'accident management' company.  Europa are well known in the Lotus world.

The only way to retain total control over where and how the car is repaired is to claim yourself.  It takes balls, but works if you have them.  I'm here if you need any pointers. thumbsup

Cheers for the advice. I've gone with a claims management company that were well recommended. They chase his insurers, provide a courtesy car and deal with everything. Could face dozens of phone calls a day like I had when someone wrote of the shed 3 months back! I've told him clearly that if they deem it uneconomic to repair that I want the car back to repair myself. Already spoken to johnyboy about a clam! I've been told to expect a 'similar' courtesy car. Place your bets now... (I'm going for Smart Roadster - plastic 2 seater!)

It won't be a smart roadster, they're out of production almost as long as the vx.Likely an elise/mx5/boxster/z4 as a loan car.

I hope it is this.

What a waste of money having something as expensive as a Z4 on hire for a few weeks.

Not arguing about it.  It's an opinion not an arguement :)

Plus if you do a lot of miles you will be greatful for the diesel!!

Yes its my opinion too :grouphug: , just waiting for the why should I have to drive a Corsa, I should be allowed the equivalent 2 seater sports car opinion.

Problem with having a nice replacement car are the cost of this alone may write the car off!

Just check how your insurance will work on the courtesy car, I remember a previous thread and they needed to stump up for it as it wasn't included.

It's a hire car being paid for by his insurance.
