With a turbo the intake noise is as much ruined by the turbine as the exhaust is. So modding the airbox or fitting a poorly filtering alternative to an oem paper type won't yield the same aural effect. Then you must have been doing it wrong. Airbox mod on mine has made quite a difference in sound. Most noticeable when you back off the power. Almost sounds like a VTA valve!

Thanks again for all your comments. I have decided to remap at courtneys as its just up the road to stage 2, airbox mod myself today hopefully, Is 250 bhp possible what about 260bhp? At what point does the turbo stop blowing and injectors stop fueling. If I can get 250-260 bhp I would probably be happy paying the £600 odd quid but if I only get 240 (20bhp more than my stage 1) I may not!
What do you think they should get if I ask for as much as possible please without wrecking it.

Tyres will be A048 or 888's Pads are yellow stuff.
Yellow stuff pads are a bit old hat now for track use. Technology has moved on.
Pagid, Carbon Lorraine and Performance Friction metallic race pads have been proven good by many trackdayers.
I would try these with a good race fluid flush and braided brake hoses if you don't like your current brake setup.
You would have to upgrade these bits anyway as part of a brake upgrade. It just makes sense to do the cheap bits first before before splashing a lot of cash on new calipers, brake controller etc. I have plenty of stopping power with just the simple mods and OE disks.
Some have reported the full brake kit upgrade just isn't worth the £££ for what it gives you in performance.
Some jobs you -must- do before going on track :
ABS sensor disconnect or cutoff switch
Uprated Hub Carrier Bolts
New or uprated toe links
Gearbox breather pipe

Yellowstuff where the single worst pads I've ever fitted to the VX. No idea if they've improved since launch but mine crumbled and fell apart on a Bedford trackday, turned my discs blue and provided next to no stopping power.

Ok, so new pads will be fitted! What are the best value for money? Gearbox breather:- How hard is it to do and is there a guide on the forum plus where to get the parts? I think mine has had new toe links and has just had a new Titan steering rack fitted which should help. Where do I get the uprated hub carrier bolts from?
Do you honestly think if I ask for more than 250 they may be able to give it to me with a remap? Id like 275 if poss. :-)

So ABS is to be disabled on track? Can I just pull a fuse? Which Pagid pads are we talking about?
Cheers
