I use Pagid RS14 or 15.

The standard clutch is not going to last long running over 240 ish bhp.

Hub Carrier Bolts

http://www.vx220.org...-back-in-stock/

Gearbox Breather - most people make it themself

http://www.vx220.org...eather-kit-l15/

Pads - Mike won Time Attack on Performance Friction. I think PF01s. I run PF08s which are a bit less snatchy. Carbon Lorraine RC6s also get good reviews.

You can ask for 275bhp from a stage 2 but I think the problem you will hit will be that it will get hot very quickly. You might only get a lap or two at 275bhp, intake temps then get too high and the ecu will retard the ignition, dropping the power.

Therefore you will have been better off running a solid 250/260bhp all the time.

Also I think you'll be lucky to be able to put that much torque through the standard clutch, even a good condition one. Which is why the clutch is normally upgraded at stage 3.

Google is your friend you can find all this stuff out with a bit of legwork. Use site:www.vx220.org.uk <searchstring> in the search bar. Good luck!

Cheers Ian what's the difference between them and where is the cheapest place to buy as I imagine motor factors dont stock them, having said that they do stock Pagid so they may do?

I will talk to CS re the clutch, as I said it is a newish one (dont know if uprated clutch cost £250 on invoice so I imagine not) . I had a 415 bhp scooby running a std clutch with no issues and everyone said it would not last the week, so I may chance this a little after all if it goes I can sort then with a better one. I dont really like paddle ones for road use though.

Cheers Wright stuff, the bolt site seems to have gone! Can I tell if mine have been done already? What length do the bolts have to be as my mate owns an engineering firm and has loads of stainless bolts and Im sure if I asked him for the 10.9 he may have/be able to get them.

I may aim for 260 then, re temps. It will be on the road 80% where I expect 275 will be fine as lack of continued use? Can you get to the breather from top of engine bay or do you have to remove undertray?

To be blunt... if it was advisable to map to 275bhp with Stage 2 hardware, everybody with Stage 2 hardware would do the same rather than "settling for" 240-260... they don't, as it is not advisable.

So ABS is to be disabled on track? Can I just pull a fuse? Which Pagid pads are we talking about? Cheers

Just disconnect a scensor from one of the front wheel hubs abs will be turned of.
Fitting a switch is just a 30mins job

Cheers

I like the sound of this Kieran. do you just splice into one of the abs wires and bring it back to the dash and fit a switch in the line where the light switch is (Are there any free spaces there for the switch? Or do you do it another way?

Cheers

Or you can just unplug the sensor at the back of the hub and fold the free plug back behind its own wire to keep it in place.

Once you are familiar with the position and technique it takes a few mins.

I am lazy and run with ABS off all the time. But my car isn't a daily commute!

If you put the sensor back on does the abs light go out or do you need to reset it?

call CS get quote and their view on the car/map/remap details.

Think they would be best to advise on all of your questions.

OK , called Thorney and CS. Both say that 260 is not possible.

So thats the first kick in the nads.

My Car specs

VXT

Milltek

De-Cat pipe (Thorney)

Upgraded Turbo Downpipe (Thorney)

ITG Filter in Modified Airbox

Iridium VXR spark plugs

Thorney are saying around 230BHP and CS around 230 and 240 if lucky!!! This seems a bit rubbish given that on std boost with std exhaust, std filter, std plugs, std airbox it can do 200ish with a Vauxhall warranty and expected to cover mileage of over 100,000 running that low unstressed set up. With most turbo cars more boost/fuel make 50 bhp extra with no other mods. (Subaru, Evo, Cosworth, VXR astra etc etc...) My Stage 1 Map shows 233BHP so if I go to stage 2 I might be "Lucky" to make an extra 7BHP or possibly loose 3BHP??? £1000 exhaust, £220 decat pipe and £250 Turbo pipe, Airbox mod that everyone raves about and CS recommend at stg2 and Labour all for -3 to 7bhp?? Not to mention the £500 to map it!!

I thought from what everyone was saying that stage 2 should be around 250BHP (and I could ask for more if I wanted to risk clutch/overheating on track, which I didnt want)

Any thoughts on stage 2 at 230bhp??

They also said the Milltek was not able to flow over 240bhp without restricting power! Are they really that rubbish? After all they are described as a performance exhaust and cost a fair amount on top of a good reputation in the exhaust industry (used by most R35 GTR owners I know) There must be people out there running 275 with a Milltek?
