How do the v6's and stage 2 vx's compare to the super hot hatches of today like the Golf R, M140i, A45 Amg etc on track?

the hot hatches of today seem to very quick in a straight line,

especially the rs3 audi

i think they might even out run a stage 2

There was an A45 AMG at Rockingham last year.  Pretty sure he had his hand brake on.  It was considerably slower if i remember correctly.

I've got an m140, v6 exige and stage 2 vx :D I think they are all about the same, the exige is probably marginally faster outright but the bmw would do it more repeatedly over and over again . It's properly quick and leaves a golf r for dead once you get going. The 3l turbo is an absolutely fabulous unit.

I have passed every one of the cars in that list on track without issue in my stg2 vx. That a45 at rockingham did seem particularly tardy. On a single lap they might be ok but beyond that the brakes and tyres will just melt and they'll fall off the pace. The vx and exige will just keep good by round and round. Ultimately they're all too heavy for track work.

I seem to remember Chris's stage 2 destroyed a focus rs500 from a rolling start? Many of these high power hatches have good 4 wheel drive systems so get off the line quickly and easily. The VX was never about straight line speed but the high powered ones make a good job of it.

All cars can be driven at law breaking speeds on the road.. Nothing wrong with the exige v6 performance.. but sure makes a lovely road car ;-)

I know it's not all about straight line pace but personally if I swopped out for the V6 I could see myself getting used to the power quite quickly and end up spending £k's on mods again like I have on my tubby. I think someone eluded to it earlier in the thread, it's like starting again and I'm sure it won't be long before the modding bug starts with you new owners. Most likely once the warranty ends but it's bound to happen!
