Weve had to tack the exhaust together and break it apart so many times just to get everything positioned in the rite place but were nearly there now. Just a small bit of welding to be done around the valve and the added tailpipe and it will be pretty much complete. Also just starting to finish weld the manifold.
You will notice the mounting points have been moved. This was just to make sure that we had some room around the exhaust so we wouldnt end up with any knocking etc. Heres the pics.........in no particular order because i just cant remember lol.

Think thats it upto date on the exhaust. Have had another little side project on the rear brakes i got from joe... hi spec sva 2 pots but they wernt a straight fit. Got them to fit after a bit of work but could do with some feedback on them.

Had to use 330mm rear discs from an alfa as mounting points pushed the caliper out too far. The consequence of this is that the pads come into contact with roughly 70% of the disc.

Goodness me thats a complex yet well executed exhaust. I'll be interested in how effective it is and how it sounds through the valve opening transition, as I am thinking of doing something simlar on mine.

Do you find purging the air in the pipes prior to welding is worthwhile?

It keeps the weld cooler on the back side and helps wet out the weld a lot better. Also by back purging you wont get no sugaring on the back of the weld. It uses a lot of argon but for some parts that we could reach we used solarflux to do the same job but found this only really works well when you have a tight butt joint or a lap weld. If you have the slightest of gaps it tends to pull through into the weld :/Do you find purging the air in the pipes prior to welding is worthwhile?
