Agree with the above. Chris Evans is not Jeremy Clarkson so why try to act the same way and tell the same jokes. Move on and create something new! Extra gear was better for this reason. Swap Chris Evans for Harris and we may have something worth watching. I'm interested to see if Matt leBlanc can develop into a good presenter. There were some promising signs there.

Not seen it yet as I was at the GP. Not taking my heed of comments here because as I remember any thread about top gear brings out the moaners. I wouldn't be surprised if the same people moaning here were not the same ones moaning old top gear was bad and now pining for it.

Some people just like to moan....but then watch anyway.

I'm pretty sure it'll be fine

Just because people moaned about some of the previous episodes, doesn't mean they're wrong to moan even more loudly at this effort. Imagine the same old slightly stale format replicated, almost word for word and feature for feature, but with shittier presenters and less (okay, no) comfortable banter between them. See, saved you an hour there. ;)

Chris Harris was ok at his usual drifting a car round a track thing but he was awful at the 'live' stuff. No craic, uber nerdy and arsey. LeBlanc might end up being the best hing about it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Black and White TV licence. It's the way forward for sure. Buy an old sh*t telly and you can use Iplayer and all the other stuff? And ginger is still ginger on black and white

I quite liked the 2nd and 3rd episodes. Harris was his usual self and (I think) it worked well. LeBlanc is quite likeable and did a good job with Ken block, not sure about the guy who reviewed the focus although my 12 year old enjoyed that bit so I guess he's there to communicate with the yoof.

I think the whole "shout in your face and whoop whoop non stop" concept of the program is flawed, which the ginger bloke seems to do every sentence.

Surely there is some scope for looking at automotive design/engineering concepts and explaining them in some moderate depth each week? Things like, why cylinders are around 1/2 Litre in CC, why a turbo makes your car give better MPG, why sport cars favour asymmetric wishbones. It can't just be me who is interested in this stuff surely?!

Car TV programs (and most others) just seems to be about dubbing down to the lowest level and entertaining the thickies these days, as opposed to mind expanding and insightful.

I'd agree with that. A decent regular engineering feature and some industry news. But then it would have to start becoming a car programme again.... also they could do features on motorbikes too. Theyre trying to continue the same over done thing.

Every episode so far this season has gotten better, but it started pretty far down so that's not saying much. Would love to have some insightful stuff like Nev has suggested but I cannot see it ever happening, it's an entertainment show and that overrides 'car show'
