The show hasn't got very good reviews on the yahoo comments site. Basically, LeBlanc not bad, Evans very poor, shouted a lot and tried to be like Clarkson, show too Americanised ,trying to run the old show format didn't work, neither of them know anything about cars, no chemistry between the presenters, road trip was awful/waste of time/pointless, and how come Evans got the better of Sabine when she would have beat him in an old Cortina.
There were some poor reviews (via emails) from viewers read out on the BBC news this morning.
Wonder how the Beeb/Evans and co will respond.

Why do they have guests on there that don't give a sh1t about cars? I've never understood it? It is a motoring show not a celebrity chat show!
...and I thought it was only very very mildly entertaining... but then it was getting boring when clarkson was still on there.

Eisenberg was a last minute (waste of space) replacement. It was meant to be Brad Pitt but he had the sense to bale.

Who was that other guy?

Nobody knows.
I'm not sure he could drive...!!
So, the monkey section on bbc3 - worth a watch?

Having just got around to watching it, it was as expected, shite.
From the moment Evans came on board, he said the previous format was unbeatable and hosts were irreplaceable. So why try to copy it and make such a bad attempt at doing it? You should have used your "genius" to produce something different and not a pale imitation of the real thing. The only reason the most recent Top Gear format worked was because of the three hosts, their character differences and the resulting banter. Without them, it clearly doesn't work no matter how many love taps you give each others cars.
Evans. Shouty, hyperactive, manchild style grates like it always has done (and those stupid boots and jeans look sh!t on 16yr olds let alone you). For someone that's meant to be so good on "live" shows, I really can't see where his genius is.
LeBlanc. Meh. Wooden in the studio but mildly amusing on the Nomad feature and the (sh*t knockoff) Rialto/Willys/Series1 feature. Just as you'd expect if you've ever seen him on anything else. Might be half decent in the long run.
Camera work on the Viper/C7 thing was as good as ever but yet again, another remake of what we've already seen before and no better for it (and nowhere near as good as the Exige vs Apache or even the RRS vs Challenger when it comes to mixing in the military). Funny seeing the Top Gun pilot puke (guessing he'll struggle to live that one down on base) but Sabine is definitely not a presenter and I'm really not sure what the "love" for her is about (even more so after seeing the tacky ranch and saloon at home). I can't believe for a moment Evans would have even seen which way Sabine went, let alone get missile/gun lock on her without that being scripted. Fcuk me, that Viper is awful though.
SIARXC was just as bad as SIARPC used to be. Like the changes to the track and actually prefer them having a halfway decent car but as it always was, it just an excuse to let some celeb come on to promote their latest book/video although neither got a chance last night. But Eisenberg was a total waste, just as bad as it was when they got Jack Whitehall on. Really hope it won't be a double (especially UK vs US) guest setup each week and wish they'd just drop it altogether.
Just watched the companion show (why do they have to do this with everything these days ). Chris Harris in the SC'd Nomad was halfway decent, just doing what he normally does but didn't seem too comfortable doing the "live" thing on the sofa, especially when the comedian bloke sat next to him. That Rory guy did okay but there wasn't much in the way of chemistry between him and Harris (will probably get better) and I'll get really bored with hearing "solid" or "cool" in response to every answer that someone gives. Wasted opportunity seeing Sabine's GT3R race car and then having to endure a gentle pootle around the countryside.
Eddie Jordan to endure as well, next week.
For sure, I'll watch it again next weekend (as I really want to see the 675LT lay waste to the leaderboard). Maybe live, maybe not. Don't really care. And that's where the difference is.

He played Lex Luther in the Batman v Superman film. He looked totally disinterested and like a fish out of water. Why get someone who is not in to cars and driving them.
Why doesn't a member of the audience 'win' a drive around the track each week and their times posted.

That track is going to change every week as it gets worn and also drags mud onto the main circuit. The time aren't really going to be of relevance.

It was just as I expected
i hate the mini drams they do cant they just do car content ........

My hope that this 'Extra gear' will be somewhat informative and interesting....agreed monkey looked bemused by the comedian's taste in cars.

Liked LeBlanc but Evans was terrible! Considering he has been a presenter for most of his career, you would of thought he could do better! Shouty and annoying, not what I want to see. LeBlanc humour was great IMO, that can stay.
Anyone else notice the 'cut' in the Viper part? Looked like they got Evans to do some of it again, inside camera changed from one angle to slighly higher up towards the end him driving the car on his own (before they introduced Sabine).
Can't see the show going all that well really, Evans needs to be 'himself' and not the TGIF presenter he once was, he needs to stop SHOUTING! I was watching on my slate pc and was wearing headphones, I physically removed them 3 times when Evans was talking, not sure if it was because he was SHOUTING or jut because his voice was grating me
The 'Road Trip' was 'okay', a little boring and a bit to much 'lets be like the last lot', try and make it your own fella's.
Let's just hope they haven't recorded the whole series 'road trips' in the same style.
I'll give it chance, but can't wait till the CMH come back on Amazon

Just watched the rerun, and have to agree Evans's shouting and that screechy voice is harsh on the ears. Loved the nomad review. The 2 person "road trip" was just awkward. Hopefully the chemistry will improve, further up the series.

Same formulaic tripe as before, the show was almost identical albeit with different people. Turned it off after 5 minutes and will revert to my not watching Top Gear stance that I've had for the last 5 years.
Thought Evans would do something different, I was sadly mistaken.
