I didn't realise monkey was so short. I generally like his car reviews so hopefully he'll be a regular contributor.
He's a racing driver, it sort of goes with the territory
Don't forget tho that Chris Evans is 6'2" so Harris isn't that short.

Still think Bob Mortimer (guess we wont be seeing him in SIARPC any time soon) summed it up best:
Though I might challenge him on Eddie Jordan.

Chris Harris is 5 foot 5.
Even I tower over him.

oew, reliants. That's a cool idea,
I thought the reliant robin sketch in sheffield was one of the funniest on TG.

Episode 1 of new series on 29th May
http://www.topgear.c...ll-details-here
The wait is nearly over: all-new Top Gear returns on May 29th, and today - the first day we’re back in the TG studio - we can share some details about what you can expect from the first episode.
In celebration of 1986 classic Top Gun – which celebrates its 30th anniversary this year – Chris Evans heads to Nevada to pit the 645bhp Dodge Viper ACR against a Chevy Corvette Z06 driven by Sabine Schmitz. Cue roof-mounted guns.
Elsewhere, Matt LeBlanc takes Ariel’s manic Nomad into deepest Morocco for some fun, while back on British soil, both he and Chris Evans take a rain-soaked road trip to Blackpool in a pair of roofless Reliant Rialtos. Yup, it’s time for a UK vs USA challenge.

Good lord, that dragged........I can't really think of one section I actually enjoyed. Maybe a minute or so of the Viper but that really was it.

Another 2 or 3 shows the ratings will be up guaranteed.
Respectable takeover IMO. The show has got the mild makeover it was overdue by about 4 years.

Needs to move away more from the old stuff and find its own feet.
Matt Leblanc turned out better than I expected though.

Liked the first sketch, Viper vs Vette, I liked Sabine - I think she should be in the show a bit more!
First leg of the blackpool run fell flat for me - trying too much to be like the old top gear.
Stars in a rally car ?? not sure. Could be interesting with the new track but didn't set the world on fire.
Liked the Ariel Nomad sketch - I think Matt Le Blanc was OK.
Last leg of the GB vs UK - was OK, few chuckles.
Didn't like the atmosphere in the studio - applause and cheering felt overegged. Chris Evans didn't come
across too good, plus he seemed to shout his way through all of the studio scenes.
All in all was't brilliant, but I think it is worth giving it a chance, so I will be watching it again.

Thought it was more like........Welcome to the Chris Evans show. LeBlanc wasn't to bad. I think the opening race/chase between the two yank cars showed Evans can only drive in a straight line, didn't noticed any drifting/sliding around the bends. I did notice he difference between the old crew being motor journalists and presenters that just like cars, there was no in-depth analysis of the Viper or Corvette. Didn't like the new 'star in a car' format either. Why does Evans have to shout so much and the audience seemed too eager for me , almost faked.
Will not be watching it again.

It was all right, wasn't it? I wish they'd stop with the USA vs UK and Laser sights on top of supercars routine, though.
Once I remembered that the last few series (the very last series was better, though) of Top Gear were really feeling old, I sat through last night's episode quite happily.

Top gear was sh*t.
Extra gear was very good.
