Pretty good I'd say, 'specially if you're wearing them boots you had on at Donny.

Had a look at my fronts again today...I think there's more like 2mm left than 3mm. Quite concerned about what effect that would have if it's wet, so I think I'm going to get them replaced this week. More expense!

If the forecast is anything other than heavy rain, leave them. My spare set is nearly bald all round, but unless I am expecting puddles, they will go on.

Really? What would the advantage be in leaving them? I'm going to have to replace them fairly soon anyway, so would it not be better just to do it before the track day? Would there only be a loss of grip if there's a lot of standing water, or would I generally find more understeer even if the track is "mildly moist"?

Jim, I will chuck the OEM ones in my boot if you need - only got 1000 miles on em... has anyone got a spare large or extra large helmet? My mate is coming and rather not pay £20 just to hire. I will bring a spare medium if anyone needs that thumbsup

Cheeky - are they on the wheels, or would I need to get them fitted to mine there? Also, are you looking to sell the tyres - I might be interested :) BTW, should I have had an e-mail with the details (e.g. briefing time, which I assume is 8am)?

You talking about pads CC, or you swapped the R for a more practical motor? Jim, in respect of the tyres, all views expressed are my own opinion with little factual basis, but the tread does not become effective unless you have standing water. However, the track use will chamfer the outside edge of the tyre and chew up the tread to a degree. I prefer to have my tyres in ultimate condition for the M6 and use the dodgy ones for the track. I might be illegal on the way to and from the track, but that is a price I will pay

Question: Should I keep my hard top on, swap it for the soft top, or go topless :P and possibly get quite wet? I'd prefer to keep the hard top on (for that slight Exige look). Are there any factors affecting the performance, excluding weight?

Couple of Questions. 1. What time do we need to be at Bedford? cant see time anywhere! 2. Where can we see complete list of other entrants as all I seem to get on easytrack is "confirmed" for about half of the cars. 3. Whos taking what? Tyre pressure gauge, foot pump, anything else? 4. Is it best to remove front Numnber plate / tape over the plates? thanks in advance thumbsup

Strangly enough, the Bedford trackday seems to have disappreared from the easytrack website altogether. Anybody heard anything about this? Cheeky - assuming that the day is still on, I will bring a spare helmet. It is old, but is type a approved. Size is large

I agree with Partridge...if they are legal, leave them on.

That having been said, I am having all of mine changed this Thursday because they have gone hard, probably through so many heat cycles (anyone else had this happen) and also because the rears are pretty near the linit now.

Sorry CC - my bad! I'll leave the tyres as they are then :) Saves me shelling out another large slice in the near future! Quite surprised by the lack of info so far from Easytrack...

I would agree wtih Partridge on the tyres issue. Be really careful on the road though (especially if it's wet) with very worn tyres. It's not just a lack of water clearing ability, the rubber compound is shagged and/or of poorer quality when the tyres are bordering on illegal. I found this out when I spun mine on the road at 70 last year. My rears were illegal though. Probably.

Thankfully my rears should be fine - just the fronts that might be a bit close. Certainly wouldn't expect them to get to the limit by the end of the day though from what others say
