Just shaking my head on this thead...
Think that the "quality" stage 2 SC conversions now are a product of the .org community and the bespoke parts were improved over time to the level we have available now.
(And a Stage 2 is easy. Beyond that it becomes tricky and expensive to get it right. )
@ Jonny; do you have a good specialist to nail the ecu/OBD side of the conversions? As that's where I see are the most problems and that's no different for a shiny new conversion or a grubby 2nd hand set...

Would the Dutch software not be sufficient? They drive perfectly on the ODB tuner. The Z22SE has foxed a couple of very capable people I know so I cant see with the age of the car that many people would spend time working on it now. Syvecs?

Like Cris said; OBD is/should be sufficient, but just slapping that on with a "Stage 2 basemap" and some standard fuel/ign learning will only get it ~80% right... That last 20% needs time and effort.
(Still waiting to see a good Stage2 /OBD map/graph that has it's max power at the 7K rev limiter, where it should be. )

this car had the rods done but was not witout a few issues the biggest draw back was the small rad CC system

Like I said, peak power is not at the rev limiter.... (but close.)
You spend some time on that one.

you would consider 7k rpm safe on a stage 2?

The CS st2 is set at 6800rpm, but a 7K hard limit is still safe. (with the stock cams etc.)
Gives a bit more fun before you smack into it.
Do you make powergraphs / logs of all your conversions?

when using VXR injectors i set the RPM limit to 6800 after double checking the injector duty cycle.
i do make logs of everything before the car goes out.

Good to see you taking some advice chris As I've said before you come at this at a different angle then people like me You need it to be safe to keep bad publicity of a failurewhen using VXR injectors i set the RPM limit to 6800 after double checking the injector duty cycle. i do make logs of everything before the car goes out.

Yup, it's a bit different ballgame when you send a converted car out on the road with a customer.
A knock retard and fuelling/duty log is normally sufficient to check a basic Stage 2 conversion, but for the more modified ones (cams & headwork) I can check AFR mixture with a mobile WB unit. Better safe than sorry...

As for number one, who gives a toss.
A No1 claim (and this is not a dig at Jon, I personally think he's a top bloke, i'm sure many would agree, same is said for Chris too), means feck all. Everyone says they are No1 at something. I always take a No1 Claim with a big pinch of salt and is normally put in to beef up the text.
Why are people so critical on .org..... probably one of the reasons I visit and comment less.

Well we supply the car not with a base map its taken out and run for a good few hours and checks carried out as Chris mentioned. Of course we are going to err on the side of caution to some degree. Do you see anywhere where we are claiming to have the most powerful conversions? Our job on a regular conversion is to do something thats safe, proven, fitted to the highest standard and drives well. We arent about to go risking customer's cars just to make a couple of blokes on a forum happy. If people want to take it away and play with the ODB tuner they can do so. Hey how about even removing the rev limiter all together thats not unheard of is it?. They make really good power then. for a couple of seconds

i dont blame you at all in your approach to this as mentioned you do have a business to protect, please dont think i was bashing you for it as i know the amount of hours which is needed to get it to hit he peak peak numbers and the base maps at standard stage 2 are already very good.
it also does not make financial sense to put the silly hours which is required for what is very little gains
again i do this as a hobby and its like any hobby you do it because you love doing it.
