Out of curiosity; what does a vx220 chassis offer that an exige wouldn't ?
a decent engine

A Rover engine with 130bhp - which always suffer from dropped liners and head gasket failure
or a z22se which, even with a 250bhp supercharger, will last for a very long time

Wrong, 1. manus car is a Opel speedster 2. Turbo model 3. Gt3 Exige body work with wide arch kit and big wing 4. Full carbon fibre body 5. Track car 6. Quick release clams 7. Modified vx parts to fit My car 1. Vx220 2.Na that's been supercharged 3. 2010 oem Exige bodywork used 4. Oem carbon fibre Roof, engine cover ect which is the limited edition 260 cup Exige 5.All lotus parts used so panels bolt in as they should. 5. Front Vx220 louvers The list go on. So you couldn't be more wrong. Only thing the same with mine and Manus car is the wishbones and that's it. So I'm taking the first vx220 to be converted to a S2 Exige status.
You copied manus or whatever his name was, yea he didnt use a 2010 exige specifically but it was still an s2 exige.. Anyway...
Nope not copied at all so your wrong. Show me a s2 2010 cup Exige built on a vx then?
but you copied someone else, so really yours is number 2....
In life people like you want to be like sheep and follow each other. For me I like people who are different and want to add there own stamp on the pride and joy. Best way to describe it is built not bought.Don't get it - I own both a lotus and a VX as do many others. In my opinion that's just ruined a piece of motoring history. Want a lotus buy one !! Love this... has to be the first S2 conversion i've come across...

I can get you one made up if you want. It's just the Exige font that they have on the back of the Exige.Nice. Could I convince you/your mate to share the design?

Bit of an update, sills are now in and doors have been custom fabbed. The guys are doing a great job and frankly I cant wait to drive it now!
Weight wise; its just an estimate but the aim is somewhere in the region of 50kg, but we are going to get all the parts weighed at the end so we will have a proper answer. I'd be (very) happy with that.
There is one of the kits on Ebay (Someone asked and I don't know how to quote it without the message posting) here; http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Lotus-Exige-S1-body-kit-lightweight/262722905235?_trksid=p2047675.c100005.m1851&_trkparms=aid%3D222007%26algo%3DSIC.MBE%26ao%3D2%26asc%3D38661%26meid%3D543bb2c7d05b487bbebe2a67efd3f0d1%26pid%3D100005%26rk%3D1%26rkt%3D2%26sd%3D331447132570
Cills;
Doors pre skin fab;
Doors post fab (with required tape )
Door interior skin;
Rad mount;
Really cant wait to get out in it now, but patience is a virtue.....

Will you be matching the inner door skin GRP with the (lowered) profile of the chassis beam of the VX chassis so there's not such a big gap between the chassis beam and door?
Or even add a riser piece on the chassis beam to make it a straight run like on the S1?
Bye, Arno.
