Check the height of the engine mount before fitting compared to the old/original ones.
The newer ones can be different in size (shorter mostly), which can cause the engine to 'sit' on the front/back mounts too much overloading those.
Should be a few threads on here about this issue experienced by several people.
Bye, Arno.

Still doing home work, will look into it.Have you considered a 71HTA instead? Spools faster than a normal GTX28 and makes power similar to that of a GTX30, plenty running over 500bhp on these now and only a couple of hundred more expensive than a normal GTX28.

Out of interest, how come? I noted they seem to be relatively cheap compared to the Garrett turbos, and most seem to be twin scroll. I thought they were generally better for larger capacity engines.

Holsets are mainly from large capacity diesel and tractor engines. They're well built and reliable but on a piddly 2.0L engine they're laggy as hell.
You'd get quicker spool from one of the china copy GT30 turbos from ebay.

Yeah that's the impression I had of them - they are physically pretty large and undoubtedly 'robust' looking..

I have to say I can't fault my GTX3071, after 7 years it's still going strong. Also my Tial MVR44 was been faultless.
Having said that, in your "new build position" I would still consider a variable geometry or twin scroll turbo too.
