Yes, Yes    I'm listening   The first release will be the base version   without   GPS laptimer Video input Datalogging   these additions will be available via download at various stages of release   preview , beta , stable etc   when the updates are applied to the dash a backup of the original software is stored on the update usb stick   so after adding any features you can always revert if needed.

Damn, agree with others I'd rather have something rock solid with 3 useful features than 1001 features I Iook at, think "oh, that cool", then never use again. However my top 3 list in order would be: 1. Display data 2. Log data 3. GPS based calcs (0-60 times, G-force, laptimer etc.. basically rip off what the RL performance box does) What's the refresh rate of the GPS? Wants to be >10Hz really to make anything other than sat nav useful. Still if everything can be implemented via firmware updates makes sense to start selling ASAP and get some money back!

Think you'd be better off selling it as a basic dash that works with basic features rather than indulge too many fringe tastes. But leave it open to tinkerers to mess with it to their desire. (And only have themselves to moan at when it don't work) Sent from my Redmi Note 4 using Tapatalk

Just to be clear.  If you buy an early version, all updates/software refreshes will be available to load onto your unit FOC?  Or will there be upgrade costs?

My stack backlighting is broken, so looking for a second hand one.... but this alternative has me sorely tempted.  Didn't see this until now either otherwise I would have come and had a nose at the national!

Is it just plug and play with Dutch ECU?

Just a quick question can we add our current milage to it, and if you ever switched back to the original cluster how would that work as the original cluster would then be showing the wrong milage right?

The miles can be set at purchase. If you switch back your stack mileage would continue from when you removed it.

Would be nice to have an update from garw on the topic. It's been fairly dead for a while and i saw a beta unit being sold in the parts forum. Are we waiting in vain?

Mileage can now be set directly in the cluster A record is stored and visible on the Mileage correction page

So is all the mileage controlled by the stack and not the ECU?  Does this effectively mean for conformity purposes that the stack must been maintained to prove the mileage start point for the new cluster?

Yes the stack itself holds the miles, so if returning the car to OEM to sell etc you'd have to keep tabs on the amount you did with the LCD and mentally add it to know the true mileage.

What's the obsession with storing the mileage? It's p*ss easy to clock a car, so not really going to make a difference?

The continuation of the accurate mileage on MOT certificates is pretty important, especially if you ever sell the car.

As long as you properly document everything it should be OK.  After all, once the GARW is fitted who is ever going to want to put the original STACK back on?
