no progress as of late ive started a new job and im stuck up here at gaydon till the new year

so while im away ive redesigned the rear and will use the vx style sides cut away like MAXR is doing

the rear will use audi q7 bumper lights

NaxSDWL.jpg

the sides vx style

these are very ruff renders ive cobbled together i may change the sides slightly when i come to do them

bought a pair of audi r8 v8 manifolds  as a starter for the turbo setup but may very well build it as an NA first

just to get everything up and running adding the turbos later

I love the rear, Well done!

Q7 bumper....If you said that a year ago, people would have laughed. Actually, I did and I know you can get it to work. I love the rear floating lights. More modern looking than a couple of round lotus style ones.

I also LOVE the open arsed McLaren P1 style rear, very aggressive and it will allow glimpses of the engine, exhaust etc. Then throw in that V8 sound track, it will be epic!

I guess weight distribution and suspension will be important, otherwise you'll end up like Joe, pirouetting uncontrollably.

I'll be posting some tips soon on some techniques I've uncovered along the way. It will help you with your conversion. Some are very useful!

please do max you've already shown me a thing or two with fabrication

with regards to vehicle dynamics, this Motorsport Engineering Degree I'm currently studying is paying dividends already so I expect a completely sorted chassis FEA tested for suitable rigidity and built-in vehicle dynamics from the start.

not used it as of yet but I'm not sure what software they use yet as haven't covered the in-depth chassis module

only been using STAR CCM+ and Autocad at the moment.

with that in mind, I redesigned the car for the final time and intend going for exactly as you see in the following pics.

That looks stunning. Not often I've seen an improvement to a lotus body design apart from the usual spoilers and splitters. Rear end is very McLaren which I am a huge fan of.

Does that image feature the extended wheelbase required?

I never understood why Lotus made the cars so supershort from the beginning.
