Im tempted by this too.... but planning a milltek later on in the year, so seems pointless paying for two maps

If you get it through Courtenay...

No, we could re-check the map if you upgrade packages without charging customers twice

(though you might want to check this counts for just the Milltek)

Jim, A bargain! I'm removing my pre-cat tomorrow, so perfect timing for a re-map. I will call Courtenay today and book in. Thanks for organising the discount. John

Ok guys - Here's my report on Courtenay re-map.

This was the first time I had been there, they are easy to find, just follow instructions on their web site. Don't under estimate how long this takes... both Jon and Mark do things in a very controlled and careful manner - as you must when a car is running at max revs on the rolling road !! I was there sometime, but they kindly gave me access to broadband so I could work and kept me well watered... thumbsup thanks guys...

Mark did a run first before re-map.... my car has done 41k miles, was running on std un-leaded, with only mod being Miltek backbox... (photo's of plots in next post)....

Output: 147.8 bhp @ 5719 rpm, 152.6 lb ft @ 4497 rpm.

Next step: I had new front pipe (no pre-cat) slightly bigger bore and with 'sports' cat section fitted... this took nearly 2 hrs - as you can imagine a car with 41k miles, the exhaust bolts needed some persuasion !! (v.impressed with the mechanics there by the way... would def go back for other work.... ).

back on rolling road....

Output: 160.1 bhp @ 5433 rpm, 161.1 lb ft @ 4159 (but with increase throughout range).

They tested car on road to make sure no problems.... tehy reckon use of high octane fuel (Optimax) would give another couple of bhp on rolling road.... I've never used this - will try now...

How does it feel ?? great... :) .. as I had the new downpipe fitted car has a real nicer sound - not as noisey as a VX sports back box... but a real nice growl...

The car feels much 'livelier' all over.... couldn't play much last night as traffic dreadful... but for me money well spent.... thumbsup

only downside... whilst sitting in traffic in Norwich for 30mins the engine light came on.... didn't have time to go back for analysis - but after reading posts here - this doesn't seem un-common after this work.... I've left battery of over night - I rang Courtenay (who only very rarely have seen this - and could be sensor playing up anyway) - and they will of course sort it if it hasn't sorted itself out...

Overall I give them a big thumbsup as you would expect from drivers of VXs....

Mick
