What kind of power gains would you be looking at?
Is it done on a rolling road?

It gives you 8bhp which doesnot sound alot and bear in mind this is a minimum, but the way the power is delivered is B) . If you have a miltek system and use optimax you will be looking at 21bhp and the kick @ 4000rpm :o

The car will be set up on the rolling road. thumbsup

When you say 21bhp with the Miltek is that +21bhp from the remap alone or combined with the Miltek?

from my figures/experience...... I got ~15bhp + increaed torque everywhere from remap+full miltek... (13bhp on the day - but I was already up ~2bhp for miltek back box alone) and they reckon another 3 bhp if using high ocatne fuel.... so nearly 20 all in... the torque is the real thing - increased throughout rev band... I once read.... "BHP sells cars but torque wins races..." I certainly feel car pick-up quicker.... hit the throttle at 90 and she hurtles away (on track of course.....)....

Mick, The figures look impressive and Courtenay sound very professional. I'm booked in for the 6th April. I removed my pre-cat today. (thanks to all the previous threads, I took everyone's advice, slow drilling, plenty of oil and a wood chisel! Not too bad, done in a couple of hours) But what a difference. Only tested it for a few miles to make sure all ok. I've got a Piper rear box, which sounds pretty good without being too load. I've got a few extra burbles when lifting off now and she gets the rev limit a bit quicker. One thing though, dropped a brand new 10 mm ratchet spanner when taking off the heat shield from the manifold.......it fell, it bounced, it flipped, it spun and landed into one of the four large holes of the rear subframe.....BUGGER! Torch out with my specially bent screwdriver, 1 hour later and it's still there! Think of all that extra weight on the rear end now!!! Getting real excited now. I'm waiting on delivery of a Viper , so hopefully this will be on before the re-map. Thanks for updating us Mick, like you I've never tried the Optimax, will give it a try. John

Is anyone due to have it done soon? I want to see before/after plots with just the remap being done before I commit.

had my remap done last week at Courtney - LY no. 002- completely standard before remap. the guys at Courtney are very friendly and spent lots of time on the car. do not expect the car to be transformed into a power monster with just their basic stage 1 remap on an otherwise standard car. BUT the car is much nicer to drive and the power delivery is much more linear without any sudden steps or dips - that are in the standard map to meet the requirements of noise and fuel consumption regulations/figures. car starts and runs fine so no adverse effects of the remap. luckily i saw the start of this post before going to Courtney and they very genuinely gave me the group buy price. well worth the investment in my opinion.

Right, that's me booked in for the 14th. Decided to get exhaust fitted at the same time :) I was keeping the money for Oz wheels as the first major mod but as these are probably still some way off being ready I'll just have to start saving again. Mind you the fact that I'll have spent my wheel money should ensure they wheels arrive next week for the rest of you :P

Really pleased with the results. I went there hoping to reach the 160bhp mark and hey presto left with 160.6! That was an overall improvement of around 6bhp, although my peak power on the old map dropped off significantly over 5, 250 revs. Matching this area of the power band there is a 12 bhp improvement and you can really feel it. I live in Kent, so I had plenty of practice with it on the way home and I'm diffinately pleased I splashed the cash. :D The Courtenay guys were very informative, talked sense and took me through where the improvements were gained. It seems it was running very rich towards the end of the power curve, probably due to the Piper exhaust. This is where the biggest improvement came from. Torque is up from 156.4 to 161.0 I'd just like to thank Jim for starting the group buy and the chaps and Courtenay for looking after my pride and joy. chinky chinky

How did it compare to the difference you felt when you removed the precat? is it similarly noticable?

How far in advance can I book? My exhaust will be done during June so I would like it after that.
