Mine have turned into a trickle recently and don't make it past half way up the screen :( I wouldn't bother if it wasn't for such a cheap fix.

Because of course it's cool to put as many French parts on your VX as possible too :P :gayfight:

Mine is amply powerful but just seems to bounce of the windscreen. I was following another VX once, he washed his windows and you could see the streams of water just bouncing off the windscreen and into the air. Having a system like this would distribute the water MUCH better. The Elise guys seem to think it is a vast improvement.

Since it's cheap and non-destructive I think I'll give it a whirl (esp. if you guys rate it too)

Ben

Problems? My driverside washer blows over the screen at anything above 40 mph and the other blasts into the screen just below the wiper blade. lets jet say it's made motorway driving interesting recently.

I just find them so difficult to adjust, it's either going over the top which won't do when the roofs off or it sprays just about 4 inches up the screen. The difference between the two states is so minimal that I haven't got a hope in hells chance of getting it right. With this mod it should get the washer fluid on the windscreen at least which can only be an improvement! :D I will post up pictures when I complete the task next weekend. Nick thumbsup

Did you consider connecting the spray bar to one of the existing jet outlets? Is there a reason why this wouldn't work?

It would be a real pain in the arse to do that. You'd need to disconnect both of the jets otherwise you'd get half of the water pressure in the bar. It's really awkward to get to the underside of the jets to get a feed and the jets don't come out easily, it at all. It also wouldn't look as neat doing that.

My way just requires pulling one tube off the pump so is nice and simple to revert back to the old way should you want to.

Brimey! Don't know why I didn't think of this before! Obvious really. Think I'll put the Passat wiper arm on with those lurvely Bosche Aero wiper blades first, then see if I can fashion on one of these spray bars. The ideal solution thumbsup

My old Alfa Spider used to have this sort of system, Fantastic it was, the washer bottle under the bonnet was HUUUGE though!

Went past my local Citroen dealer today and thought I'd pop in. As luck would have it they had a spray bar in stock so I bought it. Popped in to B&Q to buy tubing and came home and fitted it. Took all of 10 minutes (Including boiling the kettle!) I went for drilling a hole a-la-Lotus instead of going the long way round. Figured it was better to keep the drain holes free and it would be possible to cover my drilled hole fairly easily if I ever removed the rig. It works a treat. As Muncher says it only sprays half the windscreen really but I rekon the water will travel up the screen when you're moving. Whatever, it's WAAY better than the original ones and I won't have to worry about adjusting them ever again :jump:

Other thing is, I predict using MUCH less washer fluid this way. It only takes one short burst to cover the screen completely whereas before I was giving it a dozen short bursts either side of the wiper just to get something on there.
