if you are going to use a 2.2 or 2.4 tb it's quite straight forward. the alternator backing plate is held on with two nuts and a single screw, so should take five minutes to mod. other than that it's just a case of adjusting pipes etc to fit the new manifold. if you intend fitting the 2.0sc tb............buy a 2.4 tb instead

the usa engines don't have an egr system, so there's no where for the egr pipe to go thumbsup

you could leave the egr valve in place, just fit the blanking plate and mount the valve sitting over the side of the egr plate or purchase a z22se egr cheater or make your own egr cheater

I'm off to the scrappy tomorrow and will find which vehicles the alternator suppressor and vacuum one way valve can be used from :)

the manifold costs £185 delivered + a gasket set ? :) had my vx running today, but still waiting for various bits  I found the servo vacuum one way valve on an astra 1996, same on a corsa 1995 too :) it also has a small take off built into the valve and I just blanked that off thumbsup I forgot to look for the suppressor, but I'm sure that can be bought from any car spares shop.

update (sorry I forgot to post earlier :P )

my vx has been running well with the 2.4 inlet, it needs a remap due to all my other mods, but that should be sorted very soon :)

they did a rolling road 'before and after' in the states and the 2.4 inlet manifold on it's own added 13 bhp :o

maximum gain was 21 bhp at 6200 rpm :o

the graphs can be found HERE

Vocky, would you be able to put a kit together with instructions that I could purchase from you? I would be happy for you to add a small percentage for doing the hard work :) I would have the kit to bolt onto a standard engine... name your price! (Within reason :P ) Am I right in thinking I would need the 2.4 inlet manifold, new gasket, egr valve blank plate, and also to modify the altenator slightly? Is it a relatively easy DIY job? Otherwise I'd make a right pig's ear of it and my wife would be all like: :beat: Thanks! :grouphug:

If these increases are correct I would be up for a group buy and I am sure I would not be the only one as it would be one of the best value bhp per £ mod you can do.

Would also be worth flowing the 58mm throttle body as part of the mod. Those planning cams the 2.4 body is only around £60.00 I think? so worth getting at the same time!

Cheers Oakmere

What difference would the 2.4 TB make to a standard cam'd car?

IIRC Speedster runs the Dbias intake with a 68mm TB and Std cams
