Right got prices back from Donnington..... Gulp....

August is FULL

September...

For restricted noise (under 98db) it's £12,000 + VAT (£14,100)

For unrestricted noise levels its £19,000 + VAT (£22,325)

I'd say Donnington is OUT, lol.

We'd get a marginal discount off of that by going through LoT, but it's still too pricey for us!!

Ouch indeed!

I've just left another message at Bedford Autodrome but fear Aug/Sep dates might be similar.

Donnington has a much higher profile than Bedford, surely!!!!!!!

We need to track down this mystery ex Vx'er. He might be the key!! Maybe I'll see how much LoT could do it for?

They'll only have a limited number of days when they can run unrestricted cars there. Prices go up for proper test days where teams/individuals are prepared to pay more for the privilege of testing their race cars. I guess!

I don't think we'll never get 100 cars signing up for the track portion and not sure whether 100 cars is even a workable number at Donnington without lots of shortish 10-15 minute sessions. They don't run that many at Bedford and the track is twice the length.

Kieron organised an evening at Donington last summer , 3 hours on track OPL, only around £70. This year the same event will be at a different venue , but I'll leave that to Kieron to update

This is why I suggested an airfield day, anyone got £14k lying around they want to cough up front. Bedford is going to be probably just as expensive.

one of the more novice friendly places like bedford would be a great idea. wide grass runoffs would save another national shortage of kitty litter ;)

does the national have to be exclusive to VX220, after all its as much a meetup as a track event. Would it be worth chatting with LoT and specifying that one of their track days say at Bedford would have a big influx of VX entries. They might even hold say 50 places specially for VX owners. Certain amount of commital would be required as we wouldn't want to let LoT down. If this has been discussed before i'll get me coat as well.

Mallory is sh*t for cars, can be a crash nightmare too... not muh room for error, especially for those that have never tracked.

New Anglsey looks great thumbsup

I have raced at Mallory and many other circuits - it has its own "special charm" - it is certainly not a "kind" circuit - plenty to hit :o

Would be much cheaper to hire than Donnington I would presume.

My personal favourite is Oulton Park - just fantastic!

Mirror = Rover Metro
chinky chinky

My god...... Bedford during September== £25,000 + VAT

During August £16,000 + VAT

They might be dramatically reducing the noise restrictions too approx 85db...

I'm going to get hold of LoT.

LoT are the way forward I think. They must pay less than that! otherwise they would not be able to run the days for the prices the do :)

Talking to my mate at work about this, he asked if the VX lot had ever done RAF Wroughton....but I seem to remember Wroughton having a bit of a bad name for some reason. Anyone know why?

Brunters is Ok but a little boring after a while.

last time the national was there 2005 there was a few problems, like the owners son wheelying a motorbike down the pit entrance the wrong way while cars were coming in :beat:
