so 195 is not recomended in the table however it is the max width allowed (i assume for saftey incase it pops of the rim). Are we endangering ourselves? Im about to order them based on people use of the 195 on standard rims experience. I have hours of driving ahead of me across the uk to a ferry then down through northern ireland, I could do without any problems. Opinions would be great.

Just ordered a set of GSD3s for my standard NA wheels. Off on a road trip round france to the alps on saturday. The 195s better not pop off the rims or Ill be lying in a flaming wreck at the bottom of a mountain. I'll let you know how it goes. :o

My absolute favourite tyre on my 540i. I think I'd be pleased with them on the 220 as well so may well go this route at the appropriate time. I guess the insurer needs to know .....

I found they took a long time to scrub in maybe 500/600 miles but now they have they're awesome far more confidence than i did in the bridgestones in the wet. Deffinately a good buy as i've always been slightly underwhelmed by the bridgestones.

Good to hear. I used to have GS-D3s when I had an MX-5 and thought they were the dog's danglies in the wet. I'm currently on 888s but will go for some all-weather tyres when they wear out.

I put R888's on my TD's and already regret it. Just too damn grippy to enjoy the chassis on the road. Then for a wet trackday I'll still have to put on my old wheels which are the 'wrong' colour ... When I have worn them out I'll be putting on the F1 GS-D3's or the Kumho Ecsta 31's. That said, I have not tracked it with the R888's yet ;)

I've just come back from the Nurburgring with my new Goodyears on. I have 195's on the front and the car was fantastic . I felt the front was much more planted over rougher tarmac, with better grip on the front, They also look much better!

Another vote for the GSD3, been using a full set for a couple of months now and they're great.
