the sandcast heads do have slightly smaller ports than the lost foam ones (unless Matts head was well ported out lol)

Just need to get my head pressure tested and it will be out forsale :D

An LSJ/Saab one ?

Just ping me if you sell one Imnotworthy

Great thanks vocky, useful as ever! What could you consider to be a good price for the sand cast head? If I'm ordering something from allecotec are there any other bits I'd be wanting to get from them such as valves/bolts?

anything from £200 - £500, just depends on where you buy it from

I would certainly get a set of standard size wasted stem valves from 'all ecotec', you could also get a set of ARP head studs, wiseco pistons, comp cams, really depends how much you want to spend

what are the parts like from that allecotec place? Looking at the cams really

comp cams are a well known make in the states, made from blanks so very good value for money thumbsup

my shopping list includes; +1mm valves, GM racing spring kit, ARP head studs, stage 3 comp cams and vernier sprockets

it was immaculate last year, but since the total vauxhall feature I've been driving it not cleaning it, exactly what it was made to do rallly but I suppose it would still be classed as 'clean' B)

Let me know if you order some bits as we could put it down for one shipment to save postage. What would the valves give me? I don't need the cams. Would pistons give me anything worthwhile in a supercharged engine? I guess the head studs you need to replace when you swap the head and can't be re-used? Sorry, lots of questions but you're the man with all the answers :P

not sure when I will order the parts, I have quite a few other bits to sort out first

the wasted stem valves will give much better flow than the standard valves and the pistons are stronger than the standard ones

the weakest parts of the z22se are; the old type timing chain, then the rods, next is the pistons and finally the cylinder head

chap, you really need to read the GM sport compact tuning PDF for the L61/Z22SE (easily googleable). It covers all this kinda info well :D

How much is import duty - is it a percentage of value, or a one off charge (or is it effectively just VAT in disguise)

can vary from nothing to 100% of the value iirc.... plus then add in the shipping companies handling fee (read up on royal fails latest con).
It certainly seems the easy holiday of getting stuff from the US without duty costs is over :( it used to be 90% sure of not being charged, now its more like the other way round

if you go to the back of the 3rd edition theres a failure matrix of what needs replacing at what power or what rpm

My copy doesn't say what edition it is, it's in black and white but I have a funny feeling that I had one in colour before.... Do you have a link to the 3rd edition?

if you are lazy like me then B&Q stock loads, I buy the Dremel 'tin' which costs £10 as there's loads of bits inside thumbsup
