Just keep in mind this is starting to stress the standard liners way too much for being reliable for too long

They're good for 400bhp according to GM. vocky, with any luck I'll be the person to crack 400bhp, if only for a little while :P

Is this with a Z22SE head or a LSJ one ?

380bhp are definitely easily acheivable with the TVS, that would be my target if I go that way ;)

Z head just self ported, must have done a great job  380 easy I would say

Stephan is building a new drag car for this season with the GM 3 speed drag racing box ,he loves the 2.0 LSJ and 2.2 head ports and now he's seen what we've done with this given the boost, he's now talking about changing the Z20LEH (VXR-OPC) engine for a LM850 LSJ based unit. His target is the 1000 bhp mark !! shame its not in a VX this time.
Perhaps the wheelie thing really did scare him...

Though he says not

For drag runs yes maybe, the power targets of the GM build books are only for short runs thumbsup

indeed, for drag racing you can fill the block with sodding concrete instead of coolant if you wish

At this moment a US Cobalts-SS supplier (OTT performance) is investigating a group buy for Harrop TVS chargers...

http://www.cobaltss....ad.php?t=152639

As the US guys make 260-270WHP or more on the stock 2.0, I think the M62 should be enough to make close to 300BHP on a well prepared 2,2. (Ported head, rods, maybe cams)

Nick, Great graphs! Looks like she will be pretty tame on the road & track, Ahhh at last proper power!! (Sorry all you tubbies!) Did you upgrade the clutch at the same time or add an oil cooler? And finally, it will be interesting to find out about the heat build up situation & how well she copes after prolonged use. Nick, knowing my (now, very under powered Orange VX), yours will be properly quick! Anglesey has some lovely straights. With the power on tap & the way in which the S/C VX puts down the power through & out of bends it should be astonishing, I can't wait! Do you think the 2ubular exhaust played a big part in the power figures? Will you be keeping the power back to a just mere 320bhp? Imnotworthy or will you raise the rev limit & power still further? Now, as for my 2-Eleven....I wonder what the Lotus boys will think if I upgraded my VX engine then dropped it into the 2-Eleven?? That will raise a few eyebrows!

Max

I up-rated the clutch when I had the stage 2 done, glad to say I will be keeping an eye on the heat build up just to make certain it's ok, Maybe Tubby ears to help the flow.

I am certain it will be fun around Anglesey, looking forward to that I can tell you. The 2ubular played a big part I am certain off it.
The 3 inch diameter lets if flow properly I will be keeping it 320 ish till I get time to drop the engine again and put the forged pistons in. Good news is that when I have learnt to drive it at 320 I will be able just to do the pistons and then go to about 380bhp with a 7500 rev limit by the look of the graph. Just need to talk nicely to Vocky and Techieboy for some valuable help.

I think you should look at a z22se engine up-rate it with a harrop and drop it in that will really fly with 380 in it :groupjump:

Yeah I think I may go for a pair of turbo ears to aid cooling a bit, you think there is a significant difference vocky?

the 'ears' do direct more air into the engine bay, certainly more when fitted to a 2.2 than on a vxT as there is no air filter box or intercooler to block the flow. I have used about 1/3 for each cold air feed and the remaining 2/3 for engine bay cooling, considering I'm running in a brand new engine the coolant temps are lower than before thumbsup
