God almighty, that power curve is utopia! I've never seen a BHP curve to linear - and I'm sure you haven't either ;)

Our Old stage 2 S/C used to climb in a straight 45 degree to the limiter before we raised the rev limit to past 6300 only then did we see the curve radius and drop. We had allot of customers fit shift lights as it was very easy to hit the limiter as there was no tail off in power! With Nicks we just did not have the bottle to run the engine any further than 7000 as the fuel pressure had started to drop and the lamda was climbing  The cams have now been changed to a softer profile (with a much nicer tickover) once we have run it agin we will post a fresh graph, we may even see the power graph peak this time!

Jon, also worth considering is the Saab T7 ECU with tronic T7 suite ;) ready for boost and ETB control etc... just need to get your head round working in the torque manager domain rather than simply fuelling as per normal in most aftermarket ECU's

Then you can also think about fitting the P12 ECU from the original supercharged LSJ engine onto the 2,2. Should be almost Plug & Play, and together with the HP-tuners program it is pretty much full programmable. (Immobiliser can be switched off, etc.) Only point is that it uses a different crank sensor pattern, but that can be easily solved with an external trigger wheel. (Hmmm... Why didn't I think of that before, as I have a P12 ECU lying around, inluding wiring loom and all the LSJ sensors. I even have a complete engine. )

does the coil pack use the same sensing technology?

Hum, not sure a Trionic 7 will work when receiving nothing from the CAN bus and the PBus

(+ the Saab derivates of the LSJ use a Trionic 8)

was only lobbing other ideas up :D

not sure if you can turn can and Pbus off with T7suite or not... only had a brief look at it last night.

That's why I prefer the GM P12 Ecu. No CAN worries... But the P12 LSJ uses a coil-on-plug system, with an extra cam timing sensor in the LSJ head... That complicates things, so not an easy swap.

OMG why didnt I think of that  which must be the same as the Z20NET Vectra ECU !?? which Stephan has mapped. I will ask him if he has a full damo;s file for it. I will also have to check out how cambus dependent it is, in other words if to get it to run how many other control units we will need.

Thanks Stuart thumbsup

I think I'm also going to check this route out as well. With the crank trigger pattern this is not a problem as I also have an LSJ which I was going to use in my VX with an external trigger wheel to work with the 2-2's Delphi ECU. So for 2-2 we just need to mount a 60-2 trigger to work with the P12 ECU. Humm also know a man who work on this engine during development. though I suspect his bas e cals were on a slave ECU not the P12.. worth an ask

All this help cheers guys, thumbsup

Not sure if the European z20net uses the same ecu as the US LNF engine, but that one is also supported by HP-tuners. And there is tons of good info on their site & forum on specific engine tunes (http://www.hptuners.com/forum/) or the other US Ecotec forums. Their credit system is a bit strange, but for you as "dealer" an unlimited license for a particular engine/ecu type is probably a good option. Keep us informed. thumbsup
