Cheers. Promised not to spend money modding by VXT. Ive owned it a week and have a hard top coming on Sunday and now the wheels next!

What ECU are you running with the supercharger conversion.

Ive also got a modified mx5 running 230bhp, which now has a Link standalone ECU.

Alot of the guys with mx5s run superchargers and tend to use megasquirt, emerald or emanage ecus.

Be a quick car when all done thumbsup

 whenever people talk about different types of ECU my brain stops as i dont for 1 second have a clue about any off them  at the moment i am going to be using my standard ECU, however if courtenays cant remap it then that will be the time to upgrade it, but i hope they can remap it! my plan was to not spend any money on it this year.... i kind of failed at that  once you start you cant stop! thats pretty impressive for an mx5 bet that shifts! should be at a stage 2 250bhp but i have a few tweaks but the rods wont be able to take much more... so there next on the list with new pistons! maybe next winter

Got to admit I dont know alot about aftermarket stand alone ECUs. I went with the link ecu as there was good previous experience of people using this with uprated mx5s so thought it was proven.

The mx5 does surprise a few people.

Good Luck with the remap. I have not done enough reading on here to know what ecus people are using. I know from when I had an elise the emerald I think was popular.

Very few people run an aftermarket ECU on a VX as we need an ECU that supports the electronic throttle body and there are fewer options available. Unless of course, you convert to a cable operated throttle as with the TMS/Webcon ITB kit which comes with an Alpha ECU (or could be used with the ECU of your choice).

There is hope that the next step up from the OEM ECU for the NA will actually be to fit the ECU from a turbo which is a bit more of an open book to the aftermarket tuners. Think that's probably a way off yet, though.

Really? I would have thought they are very different ECU's, would have thought one from an L850 might be a lot closer, but still, if so, that would be very useful :)

managed to save 2 and a bit kilos by removing the fog lights. also saved alot more kilos by removing and shortening parts :D so my stage 2 SC will add about 4.5 - 5kgs to the car, which actually isnt too bad.... will have to see how much weight it saved by the speedlines. then its just a case of eating salads all the time  The car is now finished apart from fitting the gasket for inlet to charger, which will be in the post to me on monday. Also have to fit the back box, then the charger and filter and then the clams thumbsup then its a case of driving 3.5hrs to courtenays while not using the boost...... BOO!!! that is going to be painful!! hope they have a nice sofa! as i will be accidentally falling asleep there as i will be traveling there after a night shift
