for a base harness with only the main ecu connector, not a "hot swap" vx220 one including all connectors and relays needed and trimmed to the correct length
:beat:

you didn't try buying the "good" connector for the coil pack with the part numbers I found ? btw, I will personnaly move to Bosch motorsport coil on plugs with integrated modules my OE ecotec coils has just burnt this weekend (well one coil, cyl 1 and 4). Maybe due to a bad dwell time...

cool, didn't notice you found a part number. What/where is it?

Cheers

i would be interested in a straight swap wiring harness, but then could do it myself so dont know how much more i would pay..... what price where you thinking?

For the engine part, it would be really easy to do, but it's the electrical part (fuel pump relay + starter relay) that needs modification on the original loom...

(negative sounding comment alert ) Joe, do you have the skills/balls to calibrate MS yourself? (by calibrate I mean map). If not then do you know somewhere that you'd trust to take it to who knows MS? otherwise you are pissing in the wind as there arent that many decent RR folks who can do MS well, so it might cost more long term than you simply getting a DTA/Emerald etc and getting a big support network etc. You need to weigh those options up ;)

lol i would never get in a car that i have mapped myself... in all fairness it wouldnt get down the road  its all about reviews... if a company gets alot of good reviews then im happy with them, otherwise why would you buy anything that you didnt do yourself.... p.s. emerald is at the top of my list at the moment.... saying that im sure you think its crap so im shooting myself in my foot by saying that! cant win!

Aside from Lumenitions p*ss poor attempt at a user interface, and Unichips w4nk idea of locking it all down (same goes for webCON), ALL aftermarket ECU's get atleast one thumbs up from me :D

my personal theory on picking management is to ignore the shiney feature list as they all fundamentally do the same stuff, its the chap who mapping it that will make or break the car..... eg a legendary map on MS will kick the crap out of a p*ss poorly mapped solaris.
Not all RR's can cope with MS, so you wont get the bestet results. Talk to the place you want to do the mapping and see what they prefer to work with, will save you time and money in the long run

I'll let you know how well I do on my own
I've never done anything like this before but like to think I'm sort of intelligent and have some common sense sometimes :)

joe, aren't you an electrician?

just needs a relay to go in-between
megasquirt gives out 0v for the fuel pump, but the existing vx220 wiring wants 12v.
so the solution is to put in a relay which is triggered by 0v from the ms, and put the switched 12v output into the vx220 loom (I can use the relay for the charge cooler pump, 2 birds with 1 stone and all that)

or use some FETs to trigger the low current side :D less relays to fail and all that.

balls of steel (if you say "if I can")..... I wouldnt relish the idea myself and I'm not exactly unfamiliar with calibrating engines
