Are you referring to that article where they fitted an M90 and later a TVS 1900 supercharger to the 2.0LSJ engine??
Bit overkill I think...

no i think there's something new from harrop coming

A new type of charger, or just a different size TVS??

I thought I read somewhere it was a new development, will have to try to find it again. TVS1900 interesting thought though 1.9 rather than 1.3 Need to sort the inlet manifold though. Anyway off track. Do OEM ecu's learn? thinking when I originally did the up rate the ecu didn't like idle with s/c cams in as it was rich if I left them in a while do you think it would learn and lean off? I really need my cams in again.

remaps tend to disable self learning, but Jon would know if they use that function

Even if the self learning is still enabled it normally doesn't work at idle and low temperatures too

The knocksense is a piece of crap... at least it don't work well with the z22se, proven, I tried it. The z22 is a noisy engine. Standalones are very very very sensible to interferences, they are almost non shielded to provide best accuracy possible. You can try this, but if you find some wierd issues, you'll know where they come from

None
be safe on the ignition map and it won't be an issue.

We just checked the engine with an endoscope this weekend, and all is clear with no knock marks, no other wierd things, just normal wear.
(engine just past 8000km since the rebuild/standalone)

the fuel table has an auto-generate thing where you put in your maximum manifold pressures and expected peak torque and peak hp at x revs and y pressure.. but it seems to be a bit useless. Am I right in thinking that more fuel is proportinal to torque? If so, then it looks like there's not going to be much of a curve in fueling as the torque curve is very straight on these sc'd cars. The auto generator is predicting a huge torque curve.. I've basically been drastically reducing the table as it want's to put more and more fuel in the further to peak torque it goes. I've only driven in the bottom left 1/4 of the map so far.. should I be expecting a big rise in fuel later on? or will the fuel curve be quite similar to my torque curve? Cheers Richard

fuel is an odd beasty since its angular more than anything. I've seen many a fuel map rise then plateau off to a flat for a large area of the upper rev range... since its for cooling at that point.

anyone wanna help figure out what's wrong? :) I'm getting a problem going over 4000 rpm with boost (approx 140kpa at this rpm and in 3rd gear) I've tried adding and removing fuel and adding and removing advance but it always seems to happen at the same point. I tried in 1st driving over 4000rpm with low load and it easily revs past this which I suppose means the trigger wheel is working ok I've attached 2 samples with different msq files (different fuel and spark) and two log files while driving these maps which u can load into megalogviewer

Sorry, can't be arsed to look through all of that. If it is a misfire then you coils may not be up to the job. If it is audible pinking then you may need to go negative on the advance table. Start with the fuel at 0.83 lambda when under boost. Ignore unproven knock sensors to start with and only worry about audible pinking.

could be as simple as me underestimating the rate of increase of fuel needed under boost..
gve needs to be increasing at quite a rate but it's actually evening out
