Hi tom,

Can you post the current waiting list?  This has been going on so long now, I'm not sure whether I added myself to the list or not :ninja:

TIA!

Ah then it's easy for you Robin, I'm not taking any orders until I have met current commitments. If I go ahead with another batch then there will be a new list to decide to add yourself to or not

Similar question to Robin, am I included in the current commitments or do I have to wait to see if you will do another batch

Didn't people all pay a few years back for the units to help fund the builds?

How many are in the plan to be manufactured?

Correct. These are the people who will be supplied in the imminent batch. I am not taking on new commitments until this is done.

Epoxy is giving off gas? Bit scarey. Are you not using some form of closed mould / bag or otherwise?

It's for casting a resin former for vacuum forming the ABS rear cover so not a typical fibreglass/CF moulding. In this case the hardener is pretty nasty and gets to about 80 deg. C during the cure

That makes more sense :)
I've always gone for a filled PU for this but that's not nice either.

Rear enclosure for near side complete (fibreglass prototype shown, now being cast in high temperature resin for vacuum forming using same material as OEM)

In contrast to earlier versions this perfectly follows the shape of the headlight bracket so the headlights don't sink (earlier version has problems with the light slumping in the mount) and access hatch for HID has been changed to a large grommet for better weather sealing

Do look good, the 2019 vx headlight market will be interesting.

How many different ones do you have, what was the outcome of the ones in the photo on page 48 ?

This will be the only enclosure that will be used on the lights. The previous ones all had various compromises that I wasn't happy with, including the headlight slumping in the mount (unacceptable, hence redesign) and a fairly complicated rear cover for the xenon starter and bulb (now replaced with large grommet much similar to OEM design)

After this first run, do you think you could do runs of parts as a DIY kit? Akin to what you are doing at the moment with the lenses...

That'd be awesome! I'd love a main piece (in fibreglass, no need for carbon) to have a play with. If you need reassurance I have no intention of making copies, I just want a play for myself.

And we could slowly convert/repair existing units, all the while sparing a lot of assembly time for Fez...

Deliveries will start at the end of this month/start of next. The prototype rear enclosure for the remaining side is complete and will be cast into the vacuum former next weekend (until then lots of sanding and polishing)
